Maison Skalli will open its second location April 11 at 622 N. High St. in the Short North, according to a social media post from the business. Owned and operated by the Esskalli family, the restaurant serves French-leaning baked goods – including delicate cookies and indulgent croissants − and hearty brunch items.
Many meals at the original location at 2746 Festival Lane lean into the Esskalli’s Moroccan heritage, such as the namesake Maison Skalli Breakfast, which features egg tagine served with mint tea on a silver tray. Crepes, quiche and French toast are also on its menu.
Maison Skalli briefly opened a second location at Mill Run last year, but closed it a month later, stating the intention at the time was to expand to reopen in a space “that is designed to give you an even warmer experience.” Both locations will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Martha’s Fusion Kitchen opens Hilliard location
Martha’s Fusion Kitchen, a North Linden Mexican restaurant specializing in birria, recently opened a second location in Hilliard at 4502 Cemetery Road. Hours at the new location are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.
Martha’s was first opened in January 2021 by Guanajuato, Mexico, native Martha Armenta and her business partner Jose Zacatelco as a take-out restaurant. It was named a 2022 Best New Restaurant by Columbus Monthly, and its original location has since been remodeled to accommodate dine-in customers.
