With the end of the NCAA Tournament came the opening of the transfer portal.
The spring transfer portal window opened early Tuesday, and within the first 12 hours, there already were over 1,000 Division I men’s basketball players whose names had been officially entered.
The spring portal window runs through April 21.
Among the biggest names in the transfer portal or planning to enter the portal from state schools are Detroit Mercy rising junior guard TJ Nadeau (Detroit Catholic Central), Oakland rising senior Isaac Garrett, Eastern Michigan rising junior forward Mohammad Habhab (Dearborn Fordson) and Western Michigan rising senior guard Jalen Griffith. Oakland star point guard Brody Robinson also planned to enter the transfer portal, though his lawsuit against the NCAA seeking an extra year of eligibility suffered a major blow last week.
