Potawatomi Casino evacuated due to fire

Potawatomi Casino is being evacuated April 6 after a fire started following a boiler system failure, according to a Facebook post by the business.

The fire is under control and there have been no injuries related to it, said Fire Chief Aaron Lipski in a text message.

The hotel portion of the business was not immediately being evacuated. That portion of the building is on a different system, Potawatomi’s social media post said. Potawatomi Casino & Hotel is located at 1721 W. Canal St.

A Potawatomi spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
