Law enforcement officials have canceled an Iowa Amber Alert for a pre-teen girl they said was last seen with a man in his late 20s or early 30s.
Issued at 5:08 p.m. Sunday, April 5, the alert sought information leading to the location and recovery of Dayton Annabelle Cranston, 12, who was missing from Waterloo.
Waterloo police said in a Facebook posting that she had been located by authorities and was safe.
It said she had gone missing about 12:30 p.m. Sunday and had departed with the man in a red Toyota Camry. Her cellphone was later found along Interstate 380 near Mt. Auburn, and police believed she was in danger.
The posting did not say how she had been found or whether anyone had been charged in connection with the search.
It said no more information will be released.
