June 21 results: Devers homer earns RubberDucks a series split
On Sunday afternoon, Jose Devers hit his first Double-A home run that pushed the Akron RubberDucks past the Altoona Curve 4-3 at 7 17 Credit Union Park. The Ducks’ third consecutive one-run game allowed Akron to earn a six-game series split with the Curve.
Altoona tied the game 3-3 in the seventh inning, Devers launched his homer into the bullpens in right-center to put the Ducks up 4-3. The Akron third baseman went 3-for-4 and improved his batting average to .271.
Caden Favors started for Akron and went 4⅔ innings allowing two runs in the second inning. He struck out six. Relievers Jay Driver and Zane Morehouse worked without giving up a run. Sean Matson allowed a run in his 1⅓ of work followed by Matt Jachec’s perfect inning and a third to pick up the win.
June 20 results: Ducks fall in extra innings 3-2
The Akron RubberDucks had seven hits and only allowed Altoona to get four, but dropped a 3-2 game in extra innings at 7 17 Credit Union Park. The game ended on pickoff at third base with tying run at third and the winning run at second base. It was the second consecutive 3-2 win over Akron by the Curve.
Altoona’s Derek Berg hit a 3-2 pitch into left field with two outs that scored two runs and hand the Ducks their third consecutive loss. Jack Carey (1-1) allowed the two runs (one earned) over his two innings of work.
The Ducks only run came in the bottom of the second when Luke Hill scored from second on a Cameron Barstad single. The loss dropped Akron’s record in extra-inning games this season to 2-4.
June 17 results: Rain suspends Curve and Ducks in the sixth inning
The Akron RubberDucks and Altoona Curve were suspended in the sixth inning Wednesday night at 7 17 Credit Union Park by rain. The game was tied 5-5 and will resume on Thursday at 5:05 p.m. The regularly scheduled game between Akron and Altoona will follow approximately 30 minutes after the suspended game is completed.
June 16 results: Jonah Advincula leads Ducks to home victory after long road trip
The RubberDucks returned home to 7 17 Credit Union Park after a 14-day road trip, and beat up on the Altoona Curve 14-6 in the series opener. Jonah Advincula homered twice and drove in five runs to lead the 13-hit Ducks attack.
Advincula’s two-run home run in the second inning scored Wuilfredo Antunez, who had singled, putting the RubberDucks up 2-0. Alfonsin Rosario hit a RBI double in a seven-run seventh inning for his 21st RBI this month. Juan Benjamin capped the seventh-inning outburst with three-run triple that made it 12-1.
In the eighth inning Advincula hit his second two-run home run to make it 14-1.
Caden Favors (2-5) earned his first since April 11, allowing one run and striking out seven in five innings.
June 14 results: Final game of series washed out
Sunday’s game between the Akron RubberDucks and Erie SeaWolves was delayed in the middle of the fourth inning by rain, was cancelled. The two teams do not meet again in the first half of the regular season and the game will not be made up.
The RubberDucks (32-20) begin a six-game series at 7 17 Credit Union Park against the Altoona Curve on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m.
June 13 results: Akron’s one-run win snaps losing streak
It was Akron’s turn to comeback, beating the Erie Seawolves Saturday night 5-4 to snap a five-game skid.
In the eighth inning Jaison Chourio singled with two outs. Alfonsin Rosario followed with a two-run homer to cut Erie’s lead to 4-3. Then back-to-back doubles by Jacob Cozart and Wuilfredo Antunez tied the the game 4-4.
In the ninth, singles by Joe Lampe and Jose Devers put runners at the corners with no outs. Lampe scored on an infield double play to put Akron up 5-4.
Jay Driver allowed a run in two innings of relief, but picked up the win to move his record to 4-0. Jack Carey tossed a scoreless ninth despite walking three. It was Carey’s second save.
June 12 results: SeaWolves come from behind to down Ducks
The Erie SeaWolves rallied to beat the RubberDucks 13-8, handing the Ducks their fifth consecutive loss.
The SeaWolves scored four runs in the sixth inning and three in the eighth to beat the Ducks, who lost despite Alfonsin Rosario’s second two-home run game of the road trip, .
The Ducks scored three runs in the fourth to break a 4-4 tie and lead 7-4. After the SeaWolves responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning, Akron scored again in the sixth to go up 8-6 before Erie stormed back to win.
The Ducks outhit the SeaWolves 15-14, and Rosario drove in three runs with his 10th and 11th homers of the season. In all, six Ducks had multi-hit game, with Wuilfredo Antunez and Jose Devers each driving in two runs.
June 11 results: SeaWolves withstand Ducks comeback
Jaison Chourio homered for the second consecutive game, tying the score 7-7 with a two-out home run in the top of the ninth, but the host Erie SeaWolves walked off an 8-7 win over the RubberDucks. Erie responded in the bottom of the ninth when Peyton Graham walked to open the inning and then scored the game-winning run when John Peck doubled off the wall in right.
Akron’s fifth reliver, Carter Rustad, allowed the run in the ninth to suffer the loss. Starter Dylan DeLucia only went 2⅔ innings and allowed seven runs. Matt Jachec and Alaska Abney combined for 2⅓ scoreless innings before Adam Tulloch took over. Tulloch allowed just one hit and a walk while striking out five in three scoreless innings.
Alex Mooney had four hits for Akron and stole home to pace the Akron offense.
June 10 results: Erie comes back late to take second in a row from the Ducks
Jaison Chourio hit a go-ahead three-run home run in the visiting half of the third inning, but the Erie SeaWolves responded with seven runs over the next three innings to down the Akron RubberDucks 8-6.
Chourio’s sixth homer of the year broke a 1-1 tie in the third. Akron went up 4-1 in the fourth before Erie began chipping away at the Ducks lead. The hosts scored three in the fourth and sixth innings to go with a solo home by Erie right fielder Brett Callahan in the fifth.
Akron added a solo home run by Wuilfredo Antunez in the top of the fourth to make it 5-1 before Erie’s three-run outburst against starter Caden Favors and reliever Jack Jasiak. Favors struck out four and allowed four runs in 3⅔ innings. Jasiak suffered the loss to fall to 7-2 by allowing four runs (one earned) in his two innings of work.
June 9 results: Erie routs Akron 10-2
The Erie SeaWolves opened a six-game home series Tuesday with a 10-2 win over the RubberDucks. The Wolves started quickly, scoring three runs in the first inning and two more on a two-run double by Justice Bigbie in the second.
Akron starter Josh Hartle allowed six runs over four innings. Erie then scored two off reliever Jack Carey and three more times off of Reid Johnston.
Erie outhit the Ducks 11-5. Luke Hill led Akron with two hits including a RBI double.
June 7 results: Baysox comeback to split series
With a two-run homer in the fourth, Jacob Cozart tied the game 2-2 before the Chesapeake Baysox responded with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to earn a six-game split with the RubberDucks, downing Akron 4-2.
Alfonsin Rosario reached base on a bunt single to open the fourth inning before Cozart followed with seventh home run of the season.
Six Akron pitchers, no one throwing more than three innings, was tagged for four runs (three earned), four walks and three Chesapeake home runs. The loss was put on Reid Johnston as Akron’s third reliever of the day. Johnston is now 1-3.
June 6: Campbell picks up first victory as Ducks pitching rules with strikeouts
Justin Campbell’s work on the mound and nine Akron hits and eight stolen bases equaled a RubberDucks win over the Chesapeake Baysox on Saturday night 6-1.
Campbell struck out a career-high eight in five scoreless innings that were interrupted by a 44-minute rain delay. Campbell (1-1) allowed four hits and did not walk anyone.
Matt Jachec struck out four in two innings of perfect relief, followed by Jay Driver’s scoreless eighth inning. Sean Matson allowed a run and struck out one in the ninth for Akron. In total, Ducks pitching struck out 15 Baysox.
Jaison Chourio extended his hitting streak to seven games with a double, triple and two RBIs. Akron was up 1-0 when Kevin Rivas hit a two-run homer for his first Double-A hit.
June 5: Rosario’s offensive output leads Akron in win
Alfonsin Rosario drove in a career-high seven run as the Akron RubberDucks routed the Chesapeake Baysox 19-3. Rosario hit two home runs, including a ninth-inning grand slam, as the Ducks recorded 19 hits. Akron hit three doubles and three homers.
For third consecutive game Akron took an early lead with two runs in the top of the first. Rosario’s first homer was two-run home run off the scoreboard in right-center to make it 5-1 RubberDucks. Akron doubled its run total with five more runs in the third.
Dylan DeLucia (1-3) picked up his first win of the year, working 5⅔ innings allowing three runs on five hits. Jack Carey and Adam Tulloch closed the Akron game on the mound out with scoreless work.
Rosario has three home runs in the last two games and leads the Ducks with nine homers. Wuilfredo Antunez hit a two-run home run in the ninth and is second on the team now with eight total.
June 4 results: Ducks surrender one-run lead in a blowout loss
Frederick Benscome went 4-for-4 and Adam Retzbach had two extra-base hits to lead the host Chesapeake Baysox to an 11-6 win over the RubberDucks Thursday.
The Baysox broke a 2-2 in the fourth inning and then pulled away with six two-out runs in the fifth. Benscome hit two solo home runs and Retzbach had five RBIs.
The Ducks led 2-1 on Alfonsin Rosario’s sacrifice fly in the third inning, but four pitchers allowed 13 hits, eight earned runs and three walks as the Baysox rallied. Ducks starter Caden Favors (1-5) pitched four innings and took the loss.
June 3 results: Nick Mitchell keys ninth-inning rally to lead Ducks to 4-3 win
Nick Mitchell hit a two-out, two-run double to key a three-run ninth inning as the RubberDucks rallied to beat the host Chesapeake Baysox 4-3.
Luke Hill and Joe Lampe started the ninth with back-to-back singles. Jose Devers hit an infield single to score Hill and cut the Baysox lead to 3-2. After two strikeouts, Chesapeake was an out away from a victory before Mitchell lined a two-run double to the wall in the center to put Akron up 4-3.
In relief, Alaska Abney allowed two runs in the eighth, but picked up the win to move to 2-1. Matt Jachec tossed a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his first save of the season.
June 2 results: Baysox outslug Ducks
Jaison Chourio hit his first two Double-A home runs in his first professional multi-homer game, driving in a career-best five RBIs, but the Chesapeake Baysox rallied to beat the visiting RubberDucks 15-12 in a series opener.
Four players hit home runs for the Ducks, who led 12-8 in the bottom of the seventh inning but committed three throwing errors, walked two and gave up a hit, leading to seven unearned Chesapeake runs for a 15-12 lead.
May 31 results: Ducks close out May with a series split
With a 11-5 win over the Eastern League’s Southwest Division first-place Richmond Flying Squirrels, the RubberDucks earned a split of six-game series in Akron. The Ducks pounded out 15 hits, including eight by the bottom third of the order, and drew 11 walks.
Jose Devers, Guy Lipscomb and Christian Knapczyk combined for eight of those hits, driving in two runs apiece and scoring four times. Lipscomb’s triple in the second inning scored Devers to put the Ducks up 1-0 en route to a five-run inning before the Flying Squirrels responded with four runs in the third to knock out Ducks starter Justin Campbell.
The Ducks then scored a run in the third and two more in both the fourth and fifth innings to lead 10-4.
After Campbell departed, Jack Jasiak followed with 2⅓ scoreless innings to earn the win. Alaska Abney and Reid Johnston combined to work two scoreless innings. Jack Carey allowed just a run in the final two innings to close out the win.
Devers had 11 hits in the series, scored seven runs and had seven RBIs. Lipscomb has 25 hits and 13 RBIs in 23 career games against Richmond.
May 30 results: Big inning snaps RubberDucks losing streak
The RubberDucks scored seven runs in the eighth inning to snap a 3-3 tie and beat the visiting Richmond Flying Squirrels 10-3 Saturday night to snap a three-game skid.
After Alex Mooney put the Ducks ahead 5-3 with a bases-loaded double, Joe Lampe hit a RBI double to make it 6-3, a bases-loaded walk made it 7-3 and a throwing error and a fielders choice closed the scoring.
Ducks starter Dylan DeLucia allowed one unearned run on four hits and struck out five before giving way to Adam Tulloch (2-0), who pitched a scoreless 1⅓ innings for the win. Hunter Stanley worked a scoreless ninth inning to close out the win.
May 29 results: Ducks fall in extra innings
The RubberDucks tied the game with three runs in the seventh inning, but the visiting Richmond Flying Squirrels scored the only run in the extra inning to post a 4-3 win in 10 innings. Dayson Croes hit a one-out single in the 10th to score Zane Zielinski for the Squirrels go-ahead run.
Jose Devers singled to score Alex Mooney and Juan Benjamin to cut Richmond’s lead to 3-2 in the seventh. Christian Knapczyk then tied the game, scoring Devers, on a double off the wall in right-center gap.
May 28 results: Squirrels hold off late Ducks comeback attempt
A late rally by the Akron RubberDucks fell short as the Richmond Flying Squirrels held on for a 5-4 win. The Squirrels led 5-2 in the ninth at 7 17 Credit Union Park when Jose Devers walked and Christian Knapczyk singled to put two on with one out. After a sacrifice bunt and a wild pitch that scored Devers, Jaison Chourio then doubled to close the Richmond lead to 5-4.
Alfonsin Rosario walked to put the go-ahead run on base before Flying Squirrels reliever Mitch White got a game-ending groundout to stop the comeback attempt. It was White’s fifth save.
Richmond took a 2-0 lead with runs in the second and third innings before the Ducks answered in the fourth. A single by Wuilfredo Antunez and double by Alex Mooney put runners on second and third with one out. Guy Lipscomb grounded out to short to score Antunez and an infield single by Devers tied the score 2-2.
May 27 results: Squirrels pitching holds Akron to a single in shutout
The Richmond Flying Squirrels scored one run in each of the final three innings to down the RubberDucks 3-0 at 7 17 Credit Union Park. The pitchers duel between Matt Wilkinson of Richmond and Akron’s Khal Stephen each threw shutout ball before being relieved late.
Wilkinson held Akron to just one hit in seven innings of work, walking one and struck out three. Jake Fox had the Ducks only hit of the game, leading off the bottom of the first inning with a single to left. Will Bednar pitched two innings of scoreless relief to earn his first save.
Stephen pitched six innings allowing two Richmond hits, while walking two and striking out three. He was relieved by Reid Johnston (1-2) who suffered the loss in 1⅔ innings of work by allowing two runs. Magnus Ellerts closed out the game as the Squirrels scored a run in the top of the ninth.
May 26 results: Cozart leads offense to open a series win Tuesday afternoon
In the series opener at 7 17 Credit Union Park, the host RubberDucks dispatched Richmond 5-2 when Jacob Cozart’s solo home run in the seventh inning put the hosts up 2-1.
After Cozart hit his fourth homer of the season, the RubberDucks added three more runs on a Joe Lampe walk, an Alex Mooney single and Christian Knapczyk sacrifice bund to put runners on second and third with one out. Jose Devers hit a bunt single to score Lampe. Jake Fox reached on a fielders choice that scored Mooney to make the score 4-1. Wuilfredo Antunez then singled to left to score Devers for a 5-1 Akron lead.
Jack Jasiak threw two perfect innings in relief of starter Justin Campbell to pick up the win. Campbell struck out four in five innings of work. Jasiak improved to 6-1. Jay Driver and Sean Matson closed out the victory giving up just one run in the ninth to clinch the game.
Cozart finished the game by going 2-for-5 with the one RBI and Devers hit three singles in his three at-bats.
May 23 results: Ducks take advantage of scoring chances to beat Senators
The RubberDucks (25-18 took advantage of nearly every scoring chance they had to beat Harrisburg 7-3 at FNB Field, despite getting only six hits.
After Jake Fox scored on a fielder’s choice in the first inning, Akron took control with four runs in the third. Nick Mitchell drew a bases-loaded walk, followed by Christian Knapczyk being hit by a pitch for an RBI. Joe Lampe then hit a two-run single to make it 5-0.
Harrisburg cut the lead to 5-2 but Akron tacked on two more runs in the ninth. Knapczyk hit an RBI single and then scored on a triple by Alex Mooney.
Jaison Chourio continued his hot hitting in his short time with the Ducks. He went 2-3 with a walk and run scored to improve his batting average to .328
Akron starting pitcher Josh Hartle improved to 3-3, allowing three runs (one earned) in 5.1 innings of work. Reliever Reid Johnson got the final four outs to record his first save.
May 22 results: Ducks-Senators game postponed
Friday’s game between the RubberDucks and the Harrisburg Senators at FNB Field was postponed by inclement weather. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader of seven-inning games at 5 p.m. May 23.
May 21 results: Ducks shut out Senators to win pitchers’ duel
Four RubberDucks pitchers combined to shut out Harrisburg 1-0 at FNB Field.
Ducks starter Khal Stephens (3-2) scattered five hits in five innings. Adam Tulloch, Carter Rustad and Magnus Ellerts then maintained the shutout, with Ellerts picking up his second save of the year.
The Ducks (24-18) managed only three hits, but got the lone run in the fourth inning when Alfonsin Rosario hit a double to score Wuilfredo Antunez.
May 20 results: Senators cool off visiting Ducks
After winning six of their last seven games, the RubberDucks (23-18) cooled off with a 3-1 loss to Harrisburg at FNB Field.
The Ducks were limited to five hits, and their lone run came in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Jake Fox to score Christian Knapczyk. Fox also had a double in the ninth.
In his first start at the Double-A level, the Ducks’ Justin Campbell (0-1) took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in four innings.
Maxwell Romero Jr. belted a solo home run in the eighth to ice the game for the Senators.
May 19 results: Ducks open series with a win over the Senators
A seven-run eighth inning erased a 2-1 deficit and led the RubberDucks to an 8-4 win at Harrisburg to open the series in Pennsylvania. The big blow was Alfonsin Rosario’s two-run double to left that put Akron up 3-2. Jacob Cozart followed with a two-run homer to right for a 5-2 lead.
Later in the seventh, Jose Devers added a two-run triple and a Jake Fox RBI double to cap Akron’s big inning and an 8-2 lead.
May 17 results: Akron closes out homestand with comeback 10-9 win
Ralphy Velazquez hit a a two-run homer and added two more hits in Akron’s 10-9 win to close out a six-game series at home against the Chesapeake Baysox. The RubberDucks trailed 8-0 after giving up eight runs in the first inning.
The Ducks chipped away at the lead with two runs each in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings. The Baysox took a 9-6 lead in the eighth before Akron erupted for four runs in the bottom of the inning.
Jose Devers reached on an error in the eighth and scored on Jaison Chourio’s RBI single. Velazquez walked and Alfonsin Rosario singled to load the bases. Jake Fox followed with a walk to make the score 9-8. Jacob Cozart tied the game by getting hit by a pitch before Christian hit a sacrifice fly to score Rosario and give Akron the lead.
Jay Driver, who allowed Chesapeake’s run in the eighth, picked up the win in relief to move to 3-0. Sean Matson’s scoreless ninth earned him his first Double A save
May 16 results: Baysox skid ends on big sixth inning
The Chesapeake Baysox (15-22) scored five runs in the sixth inning and snapped a six-game losing streak with an 8-5 win at Akron. The Baysox took an 8-1 lead by taking advantage of three RubberDucks errors, three walks and a two-run home run.
The Ducks rallied in the eighth, scoring four runs to cut their deficit to 8-5 on Wuilfredo Antunez’s two-run double.
Four Ducks pitchers gave up 11 hits and seven walks but only three earned runs. Starter Josh Hartle (2-3) was tagged with the loss.
May 15 results: Balanced attack lead to a Ducks 5-1 victory
Four pitchers combined to strike out 12 Chesapeake Baysox and the RubberDucks belted 10 hits in a 5-1 win at 7 17 Credit Union Park.
After the Baysox tied the score 1-1 in the fourth inning, the Ducks responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Christian Knapczyk’s triple scored Nick Mitchell, who had walked, and Knapczyk scored on an errant throw back into the infield.
Starter Khal Stephen struck out four in 5⅓ innings. Jay Driver (2-0) followed Stephen on the mound with four strikeouts in 1⅔ innings of scoreless relief.
Shawn Armstrong, on a rehab assignment from the Guardians, replaced Driver and work a scoreless inning of relief. Sean Matson then struck out the Baysox side in the ninth to lock up the win.
May 14 results: RubberDucks walk off with two outs in ninth
Three runs in the final two innings gave the RubberDucks a win at 7 17 Credit Union Park. After the Chesapeake Baysox retook the lead in the ninth, the Ducks scored twice in the bottom of the inning for a 3-2 Eastern League win.
Down 2-1, Christian Knapczyk started Akron’s ninth by getting hit by a pitch. He moved to second a wild pitch and then to third on sacrifice bunt by Juan Benjamin. Guy Lipscomb’s bunt single scored Knapczyk to tie the score 2-2. Alex Mooney hit a two-out double followed by Nick Mitchell’s infield single that allowed Mooney to come around and score for the win. It was Akron’s third walk-off win of the season.
May 13 results: Juan Benjamin’s four-hit night caps RubberDucks win
Juan Benjamin had four hits including an eighth inning RBI double that led the RubberDucks to a 5-3 over the Chesapeake Baysox at 7 17 Credit Union Park in Akron.
With the game tied 3-3 since the fourth inning, Jake Fox opened the bottom of the eighth with a walk. Benjamin followed with a double down the left field line to score Fox. Benjamin then scored on Alex Mooney’s single up the middle to make it 5-3 Ducks.
Dylan DeLucia started on the mound for Akron and was relieved by Adam Tulloch in the fifth who was replaced by Reid Johnson (1-1) in the seventh. Johnston earned the win and Jay Driver picked up his third save with a perfect ninth inning. The win for Johnston was his first on the mound since Sept. 5, 2023 when he was with Lake County.
May 12 results: Ducks return home with win over BaySox
After a tough road trip, the RubberDucks (18-16) returned to the friendly confines of 7 17 Credit Union Park May 12 and got back to winning ways with a 6-3 win over the Chesapeake BaySox.
Akron took a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning, thanks to Ralphy Velazquez’ fifth home run of the year.
Nick Mitchell gave the Ducks the lead for good with a three-run triple in the sixth inning. Mitchell would later score on a wild pitch, as he went 3-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored.
Guardians reliever Shawn Armstrong, who working a rehab assignment with the Ducks, picked up the win, despite a allowing one earned run in an inning of work.
May 9 result: Antunenz and Rosario power Ducks to high-scoring win
Home runs by Wuilfredo Antunez and Alfonsin Rosario and three hits and three RBI by Guy Lipscomb led the RubberDucks to a 12-5 in Richmond, Va. For Antunez and Rosario it was the sixth homer of the year for each.
Antunez hit a solo home run in the second inning, cutting Richmond’s lead to 2-1. In the third, Lipscomb singles, Ralphy Velazquez doubled and Rosario launched his three-run homer to give Akron the lead for good.
The RubberDucks led 6-5 after Richmond had rallied in the fourth inning, breaking the game open in the sixth. The RubberDucks scored four times, taking advantage of three throwing errors, and an RBI single from Lipscomb to push the lead to 10-5.
Lipscomb finished 3-for-6 with three RBI, including a two-run single in the ninth inning.
Friday’s result: Big inning not enough as Richmond wins fourth straight over RubberDucks
A six-run fifth inning was not enough to end the RubberDucks’ slide, as Richmond (24-6) scored nine unanswered runs to score a 9-6 win at CarMax Park.
The Ducks (16-15) did all their damage in the fifth. Nick Mitchell opened the scoring with an RBI single, followed by a RBI double by Ralphy Velazquez. With the bases loaded, Jake Fox hit a base-clearing double and the scored on a Flying Squirrels throwing error to make it 6-0.
But the Ducks bullpen gave up nine runs after starter Justin Campbell allowed only two hits in four scoreless innings.
Richmond second baseman Diego Velasquez had a huge game, going 3-4 with a home run, a double and three runs scored.
Thursday’s result: RubberDucks’ ninth-inning rally falls short in third straight loss to Richmond
Richmond has the best record of any Double A team in minor league baseball. The Flying Squirrles (23-6) continued to find ways to win May 7 with a 5-4 victory over the RubberDucks (16-14) at CarMax Park.
Designated hitter Ralphy Velazquez continues to be the bright spot for the Ducks. He went 3-4 with two RBIs, including an RBI double to get the Ducks on the board in the fourth inning.
Ducks catcher Cameron Barstad smacked his first home run of the season, a solo homer in the fifth.

Much like Richmond had the previous day, Akron tried to rally in the ninth inning.
Alex Mooney hit an RBI single, followed by an RBI single by Velazquez to make it 5-4. With the tying run on third base, however, Alfonsin Rosario grounded out to end the game.
Wednesday’s result: Richmond rallies to stun RubberDucks in ninth inning
Up two runs heading into the bottom of the ninth inning, the RubberDucks suffered perhaps their toughest loss of the season May 6 at CarMax Park in Richmond.
A home run by Josiah Cox followed by a walk-off double by Drew Cavanaugh gave Richmond (22-6) a 5-4 win over the RubberDucks (16-13). The Flying Squirrels rallied three times in the last three innings to win it.
Wuilfredo Altunez gave Akron the lead in the sixth inning with an RBI single before a sacrifice fly in the seventh by Cox tied the score.
The RubberDucks took a 3-1 in the eighth on back-to-back RBI doubles by Jack Cozart and Nick Mitchell, and added an insurance run in ninth on two Richmond errors and a sacrifice fly by Jake Fox.
Ducks starting pitcher Dylan Delucia threw four scoreless innings, giving up four hits. Hunter Stanley (0-2) suffered his second blown save of the year in the ninth.
Tuesday’s result: RubberDucks shut out in series opener at Richmond
The RubberDucks (16-12) opened their series against the first-place Richmond Flying Squirrels (21-6) with a 5-0 loss at Carmax Park.
The Ducks managed only two hits in the game, both of which came from first baseman Ralphy Velazquez, including a triple in the sixth inning.
The game marked the RubberDucks debut for Guadians prospect Jaison Chourio, who was just called up from the Lake County Captains. Chourio went 0-4 as Akron’s lead-off hittter and center fielder.
Ducks starting pitcher Caden Favor (1-3) took the loss, giving up five earned runs on seven hits in five innings of work. Jack Jasiak, Adam Tulluch and Reid Johnston each pitched one scoreless inning.
Richmond got home runs from Sabin Ceballos, Zach Morgan and Maui Ahuna.
Friday’s result: Ralphy Velazquez hits grand slam to lead RubberDucks to win over Senators
Ralphy Velazquez hit a grand slam in the eighth inning to power the Akron RubberDucks to a 4-3 win over the Harrisburg Senators on chilly May 2 before a crowd of 2,890 at 7 17 Credit Union Park.
Nick Mitchell opened the eighth with a single and advanced to second two batters later on Christian Knapczyk’s one-out single. After a fielder’s choice kept runners on first and second, Angel Genao walked to load the bases. On the seventh pitch of his at-bat, Velazquez launched a grand slam over the center field fence to give the Ducks a 4-3 lead.
The result gave the RubberDucks their first back-to-back wins since April 18-19. Velazquez’s grand slam was the third by an Ducks hitter this season and his second. He also hit one on April 24.
The RubberDucks were hitless through five innings. Joe Lampe doubled to open the sixth to break up Harrisburg starter Kyle Luckham’s perfect game.
Ducks right-hander Khal Stephen pitched six innings, struck out a season-high nine and allowed three runs (two earned). Carter Rustad followed with a season-high three scoreless innings and two strikeouts to get the victory.
The game was completed in two hours and nine minutes.
Friday’s result: Ralphy Velazquez single, Senators error leads RubberDucks to walk-off win
Ralphy Velazquez hit an RBI single and a costly throwing error allowed the Akron RubberDucks to earn a 3-2 win over the Harrisburg Senators in 10 innings on a cold May 1 before a crowd of 2,434 at 7 17 Credit Union Park.
Trailing 3-1 and with the bases loaded, Velazquez lifted a bloop single into shallow left field to score Alex Mooney and Guy Lipscomb scored on a throwing error. Velazquez extended his hitting streak to seven games and his on-base streak to 12 games.
Ducks reliever Alaska Abney recorded the win after allowing an unearned run over two innings. Marquis Grissom Jr., the son of former MLB center fielder Marquis Grissom, took the loss for the Senators.
Ducks starter Matt Wilkinson pitched five scoreless innings with six strikeouts. Wilkinson allowed a single to open the game and end his hitless innings streak at 10⅓ innings. He has allowed just one run over his last 16⅔ innings and has struck out five or more in all five starts this season.
Jack Jasiak struck out three over two perfect innings and Sean Matson allowed a run in an inning for the Ducks.
In the second inning, Cameron Barstad reached with a one-out single, advanced to second on a Mooney walk and scored via a Lipscomb single up the middle.
The game was completed in two hours and 36 minutes.
Thursday’s result: RubberDucks drop close game to Senators
Ralphy Velazquez singled twice to extend his hitting streak to six games and on-base streak to 11 games, but the Rubberducks lost 4-2 to the Harrisburg Senators on April 30 at 7 17 Credit Union Park.
Chance Huff earned the win for the Senators and Erick Mejia recorded a save. The Ducks scored on an error and a groundout in the seventh.
Ducks starter Dylan DeLucia worked 4⅓ innings, struck out five and allowed two runs. Jay Driver tossed 1⅔ scoreless innings, Jack Carey allowed a run in ⅔ inning, Magnus Ellerts posted 1⅓ scoreless innings with four strikeouts and Reid Johnston allowed a Leandro Pineda solo home run in th eninth.
Wednesday’s result: Five-run first inning powers RubberDucks to win over Senators
The RubberDucks scored five runs in the first inning and topped the Harrisburg Senators 8-3 on April 29 at 7 17 Credit Union Park.
Angel Genao, Ralphy Velazquez and Wuilfredo Antunez each walked to load the bases with no outs. Jacob Cozart followed with a double down the line in left to unload the bases and give Akron 3-0 lead. Nick Mitchell then hit a home run beyond the fence in right field to give the RubberDucks a 5-0 advantage.
Alex Mooney reached on an error in the second, advanced to third on a single by Genao and scored when Antunez lifted a sacrifice fly to center to make it 6-1. In the fourth, Cameron Barstad doubled and came around to score via a Genao sacrifice fly. Akron’s final run came in the sixth when Joe Lampe walked and came around to score on a Mooney sacrifice fly.
Akron left-handed starter Caden Favors was effectively wild as he scattered seven walks over 4⅔ innings, struck out two and did not allow a hit. The only run Favors allowed was in the second when back-to-back walks followed by back-to-back fielder’s choices plated Caleb Lomavita to make it 5-1. Carter Rustad struck out three in 1⅓, Adam Tulloch tossed two scoreless innings and Hunter Stanley allowed two runs in the ninth.
Tuesday’s result: Senators earn shutout win over RubberDucks
The Harrisburg Senators recorded a 3-0 shutout win over the RubberDucks on April 28 at 7 17 Credit Union Park. Sam Peterson singled and came around to score on a Caleb Lomavita sacrifice fly to give the Senators a 1-0 lead in the second inning. The RubberDucks were nevere able to get even.
Ducks starter Josh Hartle worked 5⅓ innings, struck out four and allowed two runs and five hits. Alaska Abney allowed a run in the seventh inning and finished his night at 1⅓ inning.
Former Cleveland Guardians prospect Alex Clemmey (2-1) pitched 5⅔ no-hit innings for the Senators. Clemmey, a left-handed pitcher, finished six innings and allowed one hit and two walks and struck out six.
The RubberDucks broke up Clemmey’s perfect start when Jake Fox reached on catcher’s interference. Ralphy Velazquez walked and Wuilfredo Antunez singled, but Clemmey got a flyout to end the inning.
Jared Simpson followed Clemmey with two scoreless innings and Erick Mejia earned the save with a scoreless ninth.
Sunday’s result: Nick Mitchell home run powers RubberDucks to win over Baysox
Nick Mitchell hit a go-ahead three-run home run amid 10 unanswered RubberDucks runs in a three-inning span to earn a 10-5 win April 26 and series split in the finale of a six-game series at Prince George’s Stadium. Akron erased a four‑run deficit with a three‑run fifth inning and surged ahead with four runs in the sixth three runs in the seventh.
Trailing 4‑0 entering the fifth inning, the Ducks got on the board with a three‑run rally. Alex Mooney doubled in a run and Ralphy Velazquez delivered a two‑run single to bring the RubberDucks within a run. An inning later, Cameron Barstad and José Devers each walked against right-hander Tyson Neighbors, and Mitchell launched a two-out, go-ahead three‑run home run – his second of the season – to right‑center field, giving Akron 6-4 lead. Jacob Cozart added an RBI single to make it 7-4.
Velazquez delivered a bases‑loaded single in the seventh that brought home three runs with the help of a Chesapeake error. Cozart reached base five times with two hits and three walks. Cozart’s two hits gave him seven in the series. Velazquez had two hits and three RBIs to finish with six hits and seven RBIs over the series’ final three games.
Akron right‑hander Khal Stephen allowed a leadoff home run in the first and a three-run double in the third. He struck out six in a four-inning start. Left‑hander Adam Tulloch earned the win with a scoreless fifth. Right‑hander Carter Rustad pitched a scoreless sixth, right-hander Jay Driver allowed one run in 1⅔ and right-hander Jack Carey followed with 1⅓ scoreless innings.
Saturday’s result: RubberDucks fall in 12 innings to Baysox
Left-hander Matt “Tugboat” Wilkinson struck out a season-high seven batters and pitched a second straight hitless start April 25, but the RubberDucks lost 3‑2 in 12 innings to the Chesapeake Baysox at Prince George’s Stadium.
Akron took the lead in the top of the 11th inning, but Chesapeake responded in the bottom half against right-hander Reid Johnston. With an automatic runner on second base, the Baysox used a sacrifice bunt and an RBI single by Tavian Josenberger to even the score and extend the game. One inning later, Chesapeake scored the winning run on Maverick Handley’s walk‑off single.
Wilkinson retired the first six batters and left with one out in the sixth, extending his 10⅓ innings hitless streak. The RubberDucks’ bullpen combined for six innings of one‑hit relief before surrendering the winning run in the 12th. Right-handers Hunter Stanley (1⅔), Sean Matson (two innings), and Jack Jasiak (one) each worked scoreless outings before Johnston took the loss.
Akron’s Guy Lipscomb contributed an RBI sacrifice fly in the fourth Nick Mitchell brought in a run with a sacrifice bunt. Jake Fox and Ralphy Velazquez each had two hits.
Friday’s result: RubberDucks win slugfest over Baysox
The bats were swinging April 24 at Prince George’s Stadium, where the RubberDucks (12-7) outslugged Chesapeake 10-8.
The Ducks led 6-1 before the BaySox scored seven unanswered runs to take an 8-6 lead. But the Ducks responded with two runs in both the seventh and ninth innings to win.
Ralphy Velazquez’s grand slam highlighted a six-run fourth inning that put the Ducks in front.
Then, with the Baysox leading 8-6, the Ducks rallied in the seventh with the long ball and the short game. After Wuilfredo Antunez clubbed his team-leading fifth home run of the year, Guy Lipscomb put down a sacrifice bunt to score Jake Fox and tie the score 8-8.
In the ninth, Joe Lampe’s RBI double gave the Ducks the lead. Lampe then scored an insurance run on a sacrifice bunt by Cameron Barstad.
Ducks reliever Magnus Ellert (1-0) got the win with two scoreless innings, and Jack Carey earned his first save with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
Thursday’s result: Baysox get past RubberDucks on the road
Despite outhitting Chesapeake 9-7, the RubberDucks (11-7) lost a matinee game 5-2 to the Baysox at Prince George’s Stadium.
Akron’s lone scoring came in the ninth inning when Jacob Cozart smashed his second home run of the season, a two-run blast to right field.
Cozart, Angel Genao and Christian Knapczyk each had two hits in the game but the RubberDucks left 13 runners on base.

Sunday’s result: 5 RubberDucks pitchers combine to no-hit Rumble Ponies
RubberDucks pitchers Matt Wilkinson, Matt Jachec, Magnus Ellerts, Jay Driver and Jack Carey combined on a no-hitter in a 4-0 Ducks win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies at 7 17 Credit Union Park.
Wilkinson (1-0) started and pitched five perfect innings with six strikeouts, striking out at least one batter in each inning. Jachec got the first two outs in the sixth before issuing a walk to break up the perfect game. He then induced a groundout to end the inning. Ellerts walked two batters in a hitless seventh, and Driver allowed a two-out walk before getting out of the eighth.
Carey took over for the ninth inning, and issued back-to-back walks with one out before getting a popout to third and a flyout to left to complete the sixth no-hitter in RubberDucks history and the first in the minor leagues this season..
Wuilfredo Antunez hit a two-run home run and Angel Genao and Alfonsin Rosario had double for the Ducks (10-5).
Saturday’s result: Ducks beat Rumble Ponies on walk-off bunt single
Guy Lipscomb hit awalk-off bunt single to cap a two-run ninth-inning rally and lift the RubberDucks to a 5-4 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies at 7 17 Credit Union Park.
The Ducks (9-5) trailed 4-3 with one out in the ninth whenChristian Knapczyk reached on an error. After pinch runner Jose Devers advanced to second on a wild pitch, Jake Fox hit a triple to bring him home and tie the score 4-4. On the next pitch, Lipscomb put down a squeeze bunt to score Fox for a walk-off win.
Jack Jasiak (4-1), the fourth Ducks pitcher, struck out four over two innings for the win.
Wuilfredo Antunez hit a a solo home run in the third for the game’s first run, Cameron Barstad and Lipscomb each drew a bases-loaded walk to keep the Ducks within striking distance.
Friday’s result: Rumble Ponies snap Ducks’ 6-game home winning streak
RubberDucks left-hander Caden Favors pitched five no-hit innings but gave up two hits and two runs in the sixth inning and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies went on to beat the Ducks 4-1 at 7 17 Credit Union Park.
The loss snapped the Ducks’ six-game home winning streak to start the season.
After recording one out in the sixth, Favors surrendered a double to Jacob Reimer to break up the no-hit bid and Eli Serrano III followed with a two-run home run to give the Rumble Ponies the lead. Favors (1-1) allowed two hits and three walks with four strikeouts.
Wuilfredo Antunez had two hits, including an RBI triple in the sixth for the Ducks’ only run.

Josh Hartle pitched 5⅓ strong innings and the RubberDucks blanked the Binghamton Rumble Ponies 5-0 in game shortened to seven innings by rain at 7 17 Credit Union Park.
The home win was the Ducks’ sixth consecutive to open the season, tying the 2021 RubberDucks for longest home winning streak to open a season since at least 2005.
Hartle (1-0) allowed two hits and three walks and struck out seven.
Jake Fox went 3-for-4 and Alfonsin Rosario blasted a three-run home run to lead the Ducks’ 11-hit attack. Cameron Barstad and Angel Genao added doubles. Genao extended his on base-streak to an Eastern League-best 11 games.
Wednesday’s result: After rain delay, Ducks limit Binghamton to 1 hit in victory
Rain pushed back and shortened the game, but the RubberDucks (7-4) made good with a second consecutive win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 3-0 at 7 17 Credit Union Park.
Ducks pitchers Khal Stephen, Magnus Ellerts and Carter Rustad combined to allow just one hit to the Rumble Ponies (5-5). Stephen (1-1) pitched five scoreless innings to lower his ERA to 0.71, and Rustad picked up his first save.
Binghamton’s lone hit came in the seventh inning when Kevin Parada hit a line drive single off the pitcher’s glove.
After Christian Knapczyk scored the Ducks’ first run on a passed ball in the second inning, they scored twice more in the sixth on a fielder’s choice by Alex Mooney and an RBI groundout by Jose Devers.
Angel Genao and Joe Lampe each had two singles for the Ducks.
Friday’s result: Visiting Ducks end slide, rally to beat Harrisburg Senators
After three consecutive losses to Harrisburg, the RubberDucks (4-3) pulled one back on the Senators with an 8-6 win April 10 at FNB Field. It was Harrisburg’s first loss of the season.
The Senators took a a 3-0 lead with a home run in the first inning before the Ducks scored eight unanswered runs, including three runs in the fourth inning, keyed by a two-run single by Jake Fox.
The Ducks added four runs in the fifth inning. After Joe Lampe hit an RBI single, Alex Mooney hit his second home run of the season, a three-run blast to make it 7-0.
Jack Jasiak (2-1) picked up the win in relief, allowing two runs on two hits in 2⅓ innings. Magnus Ellerts got the final out for his first save.

The Harrisburg Senators made it three wins in a row over the RubberDucks April 9, routing the Ducks 12-1 at FNB Field.
Akron was held to just four hits in the game compared to 16 hits for the Senators

After a slugfest to open the series, the RubberDucks managed just one hit in their second game at Harrisburg’s FNB Field, losing 4-2 to undefeated Senators (5-0).
Christian Knapczyk broke up the no-hitter with a single in the ninth inning for the Ducks, who still had plenty of scoring chances with 10 walks and a hit batsman. Angel Genao drew four walks alone.
The Ducks scored twice in the eighth inning without a hit. Jacob Cozart reached on an error, allowing Genao to score. A balk then plated Wuilfredo Antunez.

To say the RubberDucks’ first road trip of the season started with a bang was an understatement.
The Ducks (3-1) scored 12 runs on 12 hits, but it wasn’t enough as Harrisburg pulled out a 13-12 win in 10 innings at FNB Field.
The Ducks trailed 10-1 before erupting for seven runs in the seventh inning, highlighted by Alex Mooney’s grand slam. RBI singles by Wuilfredo Antunez, Jacob Cozart and Nick Mitchell tied the score 11-11 in the seventh. Cozart also hit a solo home run in the second inning.
A solo home run by Angel Genao in the eighth inning forced the game to go to extra innings. The Senators won it in the 10th inning on an RBI single by Cortland Lawson.
Six different RubberDuck pitchers combined to give up 10 earned runs on 14 hits, but they did strike out 10 Senators.
Saturday’s result: Ducks complete sweep of Fightin Phils with shutout win
Angel Genao, Wuilfredo Antunez and Nick Mitchell each hit a home run and the RubberDucks completed a season-opening series sweep of the Reading Fightin Phils with a 5-0 win at 7 17 Credit Union Park.
After Antunez blasted a solo homer in the sixth to snap a scoreless tie, Genao belted a three-run home run in the seventh to give the Ducks a 4-0 lead. Mitchell tacked on a solo shot in the eighth for the final run.
Making his Double-A debut, left-hander Caden Favors started and allowed two hits and struck out four in four scoreless innings. Relievers Mangus Ellerts, Jack Jasiak, Hunter Stanley and Matt Jachec completed the shutout.
The Ducks begin a six-game series in Harrisburg against the Senators at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7.
Saturday’s game moved up to 4:05 p.m.
With evening storms in the forecast, the RubberDucks game against the Reading Fightin Phils game originally scheduled for 6:05 p.m. April 4 has been changed to a 4:05 p.m. start. Gates will open at 3 p.m.
All postgame activities, including fireworks, are set to be held as scheduled.

Alfonsin Rosario hit two home runs and matched his career high with five RBIs to lead the RubberDucks to a 9-3 win over the Reading Fightin Phils at 7 17 Credit Union Park.
The Ducks broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the third inning. Christian Knapczyk drew a lead-off walk and scored on a triple by Alex Mooney, who came home on a single by Ralphy Velazquez. Rosario then capped the inning with a two-run home run to make it 4-0.
Rosario then blasted a three-run home run in the fifth to score Angel Genao and Velazquez, who reached on two-out hits.
Left-hander Josh Hartle started for the Ducks and allowed one run with five strikeouts in 4⅔ innings.
