Notre Dame basketball to lose best player to the transfer portal

Notre Dame men’s basketball has been expected to see a gutted roster, and unfortunately more bad news happened on Thursday morning.

The Irish saw Jalen Haralson, the highest-ranked signee ever to join the program, decide that he will enter the portal according to multiple report. This is a huge blow to the program, after his freshman season which he averaged 16.2 points-per-game with 4 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

It didn’t take Haralson long to make an impact, in his second game he scored 17-points, then would go on a tear when he entered the starting lineup. Over his last four games of the year, he’d average over 20-points, showing his elite scoring ability.

Notre Dame had a difficult season, dealing with injuries, the inability to win games, and some controversies with head coach Micah Shrewsberry. The loss of Haralson makes it even worse, as he’s the fourth transfer following the season’s end.
