Michigan State hockey’s star goaltender Trey Augustine is officially headed to the professional ranks. As announced by the Detroit Red Wings social media on Tuesday, Augustine will be reporting to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
For technicality purposes, he will spend the remaining bit of the 2025-26 season on an amateur tryout contract, and his entry level contract will begin for the 2026-27 season.
Augustine finishes his three-year Michigan State career with 99 total games played, compiling a 66-25-7 record with a .922 save percentage and a 2.40 goals against average. He also compiled three shutouts.
