New York State Police in Williamson are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Friday evening on Hamilton Street in the Town of Williamson.
Troopers responded around 6:51 p.m. on March 27 to a report of a single-vehicle crash near 7637 Hamilton Street.
Driver lost control on curve
Preliminary investigation determined that a 2004 Ford Ranger, driven by a 29-year-old man, was traveling northbound when the driver lost control while navigating a curve. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree head-on.
Investigation ongoing
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
The Wayne County Coroner responded and ordered the body transported to Geneva General Hospital. An autopsy is pending.
The investigation remains ongoing.
