Nets at Warriors betting preview: Prediction, point spread, odds

The Brooklyn Nets (17-55) have two games left to play on their west coast road trip before they can head home to begin a six-game homestand before ending their season on the road. Brooklyn currently holds an eight-game losing streak, but they will be visiting the hobbled Golden State Warriors (34-38) on Wednesday and if you’re wondering where you can watch all the action live, you’ve come to the right place!

The Nets enter this matchup after a 134-99 loss at the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday in which Brooklyn fell behind by as many as 38 points despite holding their own in the first quarter. Two-Way guard Tyson Etienne led the way for the Nets with his 18 points and four assists while forward Ziaire Williams continued his string of solid play with 16 points and four rebounds.

The Warriors come into this game following a 137-131 win at the Dallas Mavericks on Monday in which Golden State made a comeback from their 15-point deficit in order to beat the Mavericks. Moses Moody, who is out for the rest of this season due to a knee injury, led the Warriors in scoring with 23 points to go with his three steals while center Kristaps Porzingis had 22 points and seven rebounds.

Notable Injuries

Nets: OUT: Egor Demin (left plantar fascia injury management), Day’Ron Sharpe (thumb), Michael Porter Jr. (hamstring), Noah Clowney (wrist), Danny Wolf (ankle), and Nolan Traore (rest).

Warriors: OUT: Jimmy Butler III (knee), Seth Curry (adductor), Stephen Curry (knee), Al Horford (calf), Moses Moody (knee), and Quinten Post (foot).

Advice and Prediction

The Nets are coming to the end of their west coast road trip and numerous injuries have forced players towards the end of the bench into playing more prominent roles. Brooklyn has seen players like Two-Way guard Tyson Etienne, guard Malachi Smith, who was signed to his second 10-day contract on Wednesday, and forward Ziaire Williams step up in the meantime.

The Warriors occupy the 10th and final spot in the Western Conference play-in tournament, but they are doing everything they can to stay in the postseason so that Stephen Curry can work his magic. Until then, Golden State has to rely on Draymond Green, Brandin Podziemski, and others to keep the ship afloat and hope they can give themselves a shot.

The Nets and Warriors rank in the bottom half of the NBA in terms of offensive rating and pace, but the defensive side of the floor is what separates these two teams. Brooklyn places as one of the worst teams in the league on the defensive end of the court while Golden State is in the middle of the pack so the Nets will have to focus on execution if they’re going to score enough to beat a vulnerable Warriors team.
