Tri-West junior quarterback Jack Sorgi recently pulled his commitment from Louisville. A lot of the recruiting analysts have the four-star prospect pegged for Wisconsin, where his father, former Colts’ quarterback Jim Sorgi, played in college.

The 6-4, 200-pound Sorgi, who completed 61.2% of his passes for 2,911 yards and 31 touchdowns as a junior, has visits lined up to get to several schools during the next few weeks. Sorgi said he plans to visit Virginia Tech (Tuesday), Ohio (Wednesday), Northwestern (April 4), Arkansas (April 11), Wisconsin (April 18) and Penn State (April 25).

Sorgi has picked up offers from Arkansas, Memphis and Wisconsin since he announced his decommitment from Louisville two weeks ago.

Noblesville linemen to watch

Caleb Johnson and Mason McDermott, both Noblesville offensive linemen, are two of the highest-ranked players in the class. Johnson, a 6-5, 270-pound offensive tackle, has watched his stock soar as he is now rated as a four-star prospect by both On3 and 247sports.

Johnson said he has four official visits locked: Indiana (May 15-17), Michigan State (May 29-31), Iowa (June 5-7) and Cincinnati (June 12-14).

The 6-7, 290-pound McDermott said he is working through some spring dates around his school, track and field and family obligations. He currently has an official visit planned to Iowa the weekend of May 15-17 (same weekend as Johnson) and to Northwestern the weekend of June 19-21.

Branden Sharpe setting visits

Brownsburg wide receiver Branden Sharpe is starting to get his official visits locked in.

Sharpe, a two-time 1,000-yard receiver for the back-to-back Class 6A state champions, has official visits set for Indiana (May 29-31), Vanderbilt (June 4-6) and Cincinnati (June 12-14).

Ben Davis safety on the rise

Ben Davis safety Keontay Toomer has seen his stock rise this spring. Toomer, who led Ben Davis with 95 tackles as a junior, said he has locked in the following official visits:

>>>Purdue (May 29-31)

>>>Louisville (June 5-7)

>>>Missouri (June 19-21)

Pike linebacker picks up first offer

Pike linebacker Willie Chapman, who won the indoor MIC championship in the shot put (52-1) earlier this month, picked up his first offer from Central Michigan and took a visit to the school. The 6-1, 210-pound Chapman is one of the most productive and explosive players in the class. He had 100 tackles (62 solo) and 16 tackles for loss last season.
