A beloved West Allis shop known for its gooey, nostalgic treats is getting a fresh new home — and more space to grow.
City planning documents show Carrie’s Crispies, a gourmet Rice Krispies treat business, is planning to move into a new location, expanding from its current space on Becher Street.
The husband-and-wife team behind Carrie’s Crispies has been crafting creative versions of the childhood favorite since 2015 — first at farmers markets, local shops and online before opening their first storefront in 2020.
Here’s what to know about Carrie’s Crispies and its upcoming move:
Where is the new location for Carrie’s Crispies in West Allis?
Plans show Carrie’s Crispies is proposing to relocate to a roughly 2,008-square-foot, two-level building at 8801 W. National Ave. The building was most recently used as a dental office.
The proposal calls for renovating the existing space to include a small-scale commercial kitchen for producing rice crispy treats, along with an expanded retail area.
The new location is also expected to get a visual refresh, with updated paint, artwork and branding designed to match the colorful, fun vibe of the treats and business.
What is Carrie’s Crispies?
Known for its rotating lineup of flavors, Carrie’s Crispies specializes in gourmet rice crispy treats inspired by both classic and creative combinations. Built on a foundation of passion — and a serious sweet tooth — by Carrie and Brian Cieslak, the business has developed more than 100 flavors over time, with about 20 to 25 available at a time, according to previous reporting by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
From familiar favorites like peanut butter cup and s’mores to more playful creations such as birthday cake and blue moon, Carrie’s Crispies has built a following for offering both nostalgic and unique takes on the classic treat.
Hours of operation
Carrie’s Crispies’ proposed production hours at the new location would be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Retail hours would be more limited, with sales proposed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
What’s next?
The proposal is scheduled to go before the West Allis Plan Commission for review on March 25. If approved, building improvements are expected to begin in summer 2026, with completion anticipated by fall 2026.
