Lucerne Valley man and woman killed in Highway 18 wreck identified

Authorities have released the identities of a man and woman from Lucerne Valley who were killed in a violent collision along Highway 18 this week.

Jeffrey Cymbaluk, 66, and Paula Lowery Cymbaluk, 64, died in the wreck, which took place about 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 16, the highway just south of Meridian Road, according to San Bernardino County coroner’s officials.

Jeffrey Cymbaluk was driving a car, with Paula Cymbaluk riding as a passenger, when they became involved in a crash with a big rig and another vehicle, according to coroner’s officials and California Highway Patrol logs.

Both died from their injuries at the scene.

The cause and circumstances of the deadly crash were being investigated by the CHP’s Victorville Area Office.

No further details were released.
