Ahead of the 2025-26 NCAA Tournament, Wisconsin Badgers star Nolan Winter has provided an update that has fans on the edge of their seats.
Winter missed the entirety of the Big Ten Tournament, which may have affected Wisconsin’s last-second loss to Michigan in the semifinals. The team certainly received some help from Austin Rapp, but in the end it fell three points shy of advancing to the championship game.
Had Winter played in that game, it could’ve gone entirely differently. Wisconsin had to rely on the 3-ball far more than usual, though that certainly has been its bread and butter with Nick Boyd and John Blackwell leading the way.
Winter took to Instagram on Monday and posted “go time” with six images. Coach Greg Gard has long said the junior will be back in time for March Madness, and it seems Winter has confirmed that.
Wisconsin still ended up being a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament, which is quite impressive. It is stuck with a tough first-round matchup, but Winter’s size and presence are enough to change the game on a dime.
The Minnesota native last played on March 4 against Maryland, where he finished with seven points and six rebounds. He’s a walking double-double machine and joins Boyd and Blackwell as the only players on this squad who average 10-plus points per game.
