See village election live results for western New York

In village elections in Greater Rochester on March 18, local residents decided races for mayor, village trustee or village justice.

In all, there were close to two dozen different villages in which residents voted March 18 in Monroe, Ontario, Wayne, Livingston, Genesee and Orleans counties.

Albion village election results

In Albion, two candidates were running for mayor. Tim McMurray (Republican) took the position with 209 votes. Joyce Riley (Democrat) followed closely behind with 202 votes. McMurray and Riley both currently serve as trustees.

There was one write-in vote for the mayoral race.

Two Republicans won the two open trustee seats: Jami Allport with 275 votes, and Kevin Sheehan with 215 votes.

Issac Robinson, an Independent, fell short with 202 votes. There were three write-in votes for the trustee position.

Albion, an Orleans County village, had a population of 5,637 in the 2020 census.

Attica village election results

Two incumbents ran uncontested for the two open trustee positions in the Village of Attica.

Chris Van Son received 38 votes, and Matthew Sage received 31 votes.

The village population was 2,450 people in the 2020 census. The village, which is split between Wyoming and Genesee counties, is also located in two towns: Attica and Alexander.

Avon village election results

Incumbents Amanda Hoffman and Martin C. Herkimer will continue to serve as Avon village trustees, with Hoffman earning 58 votes and Herkimer earning 71 votes. Five votes for trustee were write-ins.

Incumbent Joseph Temerato will continue as the Avon village justice, earning a total of 37 votes.

Trustees serve four-year terms each, and the annual salary is $7,457. The village justice also serves a four-year term, and the annual salary is $13,731.

The Village of Avon, located in Livingston County, has a population of 3,474.

Bergen village election results

Michael Fleming was elected mayor in this Genesee County village of 1,360 residents on March 18.

In all, 84 village residents voted, Village Administrator, Clerk and Treasurer Cortney Gale said.

Fleming earned 70 votes while write-in candidate for mayor Anna Marie Barclay received 11 votes.

Fleming has been a lifelong resident of the Village of Bergen. He served the last four years as the deputy mayor and one year on the planning board. Fleming is employed by the Genesee County Mental Health clinic, where he coordinates the Single Point of Access and the Assisted Outpatient Treatment.

Winning two trustee seats in unopposed races were Bernadette Thompson (74 votes) and Joseph Chimino (70 votes). Brandon Smith received six write-in votes.

Chimino has been mayor since 2022 but chose not to run again for the seat, opting for a village trustee seat instead. Chimino said he has been married just a few months shy of 50 years and looks forward to more time relaxing and watching his grandchildren grow.

Chimino’s background in the village was mainly in the electric department. He retired from the village in 2018 after 28 years of service and was elected to a trustee position in 2020-21.

Thompson, who could not be reached this month by the D&C, is an incumbent village trustee.

The pay level for the mayoral seat is $8,000 while the pay level for trustee is $3,150.

Caledonia village election results

Incumbent Scott J. DiLiberto ran unopposed for re-election as Caledonia village mayor and earned a total of 96 votes on March 18.

Janet Cappotelli, who serves as the village’s deputy mayor, and incumbent Sarah M. Santora earned re-election to positions as trustee with Cappotelli receiving 100 votes and Santora receiving 93 votes.

DiLiberto has lived in Caledonia for 48 years. He works at TSS Foam Industries, a family‑owned manufacturer that supplies foam products for packaging, medical, furniture and consumer markets, where he handles product design, production and quality control.

Cappotelli has lived in Caledonia for over 30 years, and she currently serves as the village’s deputy mayor. Before retiring in 2021, she spent several years teaching at Caledonia-Mumford Elementary School. After her retirement, she and her husband purchased a building in the village and opened Cute as Can Bee Child Care — a licensed daycare program where she is the director.

Santora is a lifelong resident of the village. Outside of her role on the board, she is a communication specialist at the York Central School District.

The elected officials will each serve four-year terms, with the trustees making $4,000 annually and the mayor making $14,500 annually. 

Caledonia’s population is 4,155 people.

Corfu village election results

Kenneth Lauer and Larry Reisdorf earned re-election to two-year terms on the Corfu Village Board in Genesee County March 18.

Twenty-seven village residents voted in person and five voted absentee, according to results supplied by Corfu Village Clerk-Treasurer Judith Eck.

The pay level for trustee is $835. As of 2026, the population of the Village of Corfu is about 695.

The two candidates ran unopposed.

Lauer earned 32 votes. He is 66 years old and has been involved in Village of Corfu politics since 1993. He is a moderate Republican and has served as a trustee for 12 years.

Lauer is chair of the Corfu Republican Party Committee and a member of the Town of Pembroke Republican Party Committee. He is owner of Buttercrumbs Bakery with his wife.

Reisdorf, who received 24 votes, could not be reached for comment by the D&C this month.

Elba village election results

Norm Itjen has been re-elected Elba mayor for four more years in this Genesee County village.

In addition, Adam Siedlecki has been elected to fill out the final year of a trustee term, and Stacey Langiewicz was elected to a three-year trustee term, Village Clerk-Treasurer Jerah Augello said in an email.

Itjen received 11 votes. Siedlecki received 10 votes. Langiewicz received 10 votes.

Itjen has spent two decades involved with Village of Elba government, according to the village website.

Siedlecki works for ACV Auctions as a strategic account manager in the commercial/rental side of the business. He has not held an elected office before.

Langiewicz could not be reached by the D&C this month.

The pay level for the mayoral seat is $4,000 while the pay level for trustee is $2,000.

As of 2026, the population of the Village of Elba is approximately 485.

Geneseo village election results

In a three-way mayoral race, incumbent Christopher Ivers took the position March 18 with 330 votes.

Brian P. Spindler received 124 votes while Eddie Lee received a total of 217 votes. Four of the votes for mayor were write-ins.

Incumbents Marlene Hamann-Whitmore and Keith Walters will continue to serve as trustees with Whitmore earning 412 votes and Walters receiving 443 votes. Their challenger Dan Teall received 276 votes. Five of the votes for trustee were write-ins.

Incumbent Village Justice Thomas Bushnell ran unopposed and earned a total of 523 votes. The position also received 10 write-in votes.

The village has a population of 7,574, according to the 2020 census. The population had grown steadily for some time, with the latest census the first to record a population decline since 1940.

Hilton village election results

In Hilton, three candidates vied for the village’s top spot as mayor.

Three-term village trustee Andrew Fowler managed a clear victory, taking more than half of the votes cast, with 412. Long-time village trustee Larry Speer and political newcomer Michael Sengillo split the remaining votes, 222 votes and 152 votes, respectively.

“From the very beginning, our grassroots campaign has been driven by the belief that Hilton’s future is bright and full of promise. I look forward to working alongside the incoming Village Board to deliver on the goals and expectations we have set forth together,” Fowler said in a Facebook post.

Things were much closer in the unofficial results for two trustee positions, with just 26 votes separating leading candidate Jamie Attoma and current third-place candidate John E. Steinmetz, 381 to 355.

Christine Brower sits between them with 371 votes.

Attoma is a first-time candidate running on the same line as Fowler, Hilton’s Future.

Brower and Steinmetz, also first-time candidates, outperformed a fourth candidate, former mayor Joseph Lee, who stepped aside from that role this election cycle.

Leicester village election results

Unofficial election night results show clean victories for the only candidates in the race for mayor and trustees in the Livingston County village of Leicester on March 18.

Barry Briffa rolled to a sixth term as village mayor, claiming all 19 votes cast in unofficial results as of 10:15 p.m. He has now served from 1999 to 2006, then 2014 until the present day. It will be another four-year term for the incumbent.

Briffa is retired but spent the bulk of his career as a technician for Eastman Kodak.

It was an all-incumbents affair, with Dan Christiano and Donnie Jacobs retaking their seats without opposition. It’s Christiano’s first successful re-election bid and a third term for Jacobs; both will serve four-year terms.

Christiano has lived in the village of Leicester for 13 years and works as a senior mechanical engineer at American Rock Salt. He also owns Christiano Machining Inc.

Jacobs has lived in the village of Leicester for 60 years, working 27 years at Akzo salt mine and 20 years doing maintenance work for the York Central School District

Leicester has a population of 440, according to the 2020 census.

Le Roy village election results

Here are the numbers for the uncontested race for two open trustee seats on the LeRoy Village Board of Trustees after the polls closed March 18. 

William Kettle received 54 votes. Daniel Vanderhoof received 50 votes. 

Each will serve four-year terms representing the 7,700 residents in the village. The salary is $3,250 annually. 

Lima village election results

Republicans walked away with three trustee seats in a crowded race in Lima, according to unofficial results from the Livingston County Board of Elections.

Dan Marcellus topped the ticket for a three-year term on the Lima Village Board, taking 222 votes. Incumbent Joshua Petraitis earned the second available seat, with 194 votes. They bested two other candidates: Incumbent Erika Reinhardt-Roggow, with 83 votes, and Kevin Kistner, with 103 votes. There were four write-in votes.

Incumbent Brian Smith secured the third available seat for a two-year term with 198 votes. His opponent, Harvey Palmer, took 102 votes. There was one write-in vote.

Marcellus, Petraitis and Smith ran on the same ticket, promising a “better and safer Village of Lima.”

Marcellus has lived in Lima for 40 years, runs an IT firm and serves on the Lima Historical Society.

Petraitis is the principal of Genesee County Christian School, the scoutmaster of the Lima Scout Troop and a current village trustee.

Smith is a Livingston County native, a retired medical technologist specialist and currently serves as deputy mayor for the village. At a Lima trustee candidate forum, the three men listed economic growth as a top priority.

Lima has a population of 2,092.

Livonia village election results

Kelly J. Strong ran unopposed for an unexpired-term trustee seat in the Livingston County village of Livonia, earning a total of 31 votes.

There were three write-in votes, the village reported.

Strong obtained a bachelor’s of science in accounting from SUNY Geneseo and a master’s in forensic accounting from SUNY Brockport. Strong worked with The Bonadio Group in Pittsford for several years and is currently the deputy treasurer for Livingston County.

Livonia is a village located in Livingston County, between Lakeville and Hemlock Village. The village has an estimated population of 1,453, a 2.81% decrease since 2020, according to the census.

Manchester village election results

Incumbent Trustee Charles Fine earned 23 votes running unopposed for re-election to a seat on the Manchester Village Board in the March 18 village election.

Two other people received a write-in vote, and two ballots were void, said Village Clerk and Treasurer Rita J. Gurewitch.

Fine earned a four-year term serving the village of 1,614 residents. The salary is $3,600.

Charles Fine has lived in either Shortsville or Manchester for 60 years.

Retired from Finger Lakes Community College and Exxon Mobil, he drives a school bus for the Phelps-Clifton Springs School District and works security for Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack. 

He has served as trustee since he was first elected to a one-year term in 2021 followed by election to a full four-year term in 2022.

Medina village election results

The village of Medina will have a new mayor, with Deborah Padoleski expected to take office in early April.

Padoleski, a sitting trustee, ran on the People’s Party line and on March 18 defeated current Mayor Marguerite Sherman, who ran on the Village Party line. 

Padoleski earned 489 votes. Sherman received 405 votes. 

Jeffrey Wagner and incumbent Trustee Mark Prawel, both running with Padoleski on the People’s Party line, won election to the Village Board of Trustees with 491 and 487 votes, respectively. Dean Bellack, running on the Connect Orleans line, received 319 votes, and write-in candidate Courtney Henderson had 212 votes. 

The village population was 6,047 in the 2020 census. The municipality is in the towns of Shelby and Ridgeway. 

Naples village election results

A new trustee will be joining the Naples Village Board of Trustees, while the mayor and another trustee were re-elected. 

Jeff Shearing, who works for 5-Star Equipment as territory sales manager, received 36 votes while incumbent Trustee Sean Sullivan, who is senior director of Clean Energy Policy & Programs for Avangrid, received 33 votes. Each will serve two-year terms. 

Mayor Brian Schenk, who was first elected to the position in 2012, was re-elected to a two-year term representing this village of just under 1,000 residents. He earned 31 votes. 

Each of the candidates ran unopposed. Incumbent Trustee Thomas Schwartz did not run. 

Nunda village election results

Democrat Robert “Bob” Cox earned 129 votes March 18 to unseat the longtime mayor of the village of Nunda, Jack Morgan.

Morgan fell short of holding onto his seat with 103 votes, according to unofficial results from the Livingston County Board of Elections. Two votes went to write-in candidates. Morgan was first elected mayor of the village in 2018. Cox serves as the local representative for the Livingston County Democratic Committee.

Republicans held onto two board of trustee seats. Voters soundly elected Paul Palmer and William Davis to the board, with 148 and 131 votes, respectively. Jennifer Quinn, a Democrat, came in third with 85 votes. There was one additional write-in vote.

Davis will enter his second term as village trustee. He has lived in Nunda for 26 years, and works as the CFO and director of administration at The Legal Aid Society of Rochester. Palmer has lived in Nunda for most of his life and is the pastor of Oakland Wesleyan Church and a local school bus driver.

Nunda is home to about 1,300 people.

Oakfield village election results

Just 21 voters made it to the polls in the village of Oakfield, where they returned three incumbents to their seats for another term after an uncontested election.

David Boyle enters his third term as mayor, earning 19 votes. Michael Cianfrini and Scott D’Alba will continue on the Village of Oakfield Board of Trustees, with 19 and 20 votes respectively.

The village is home to about 1,659 residents.

Phelps village election results

Two newcomers and one incumbent were looking to fill two open seats on the Village of Phelps Board of Trustees.

Newcomer Christy Howard, a lifelong Phelps resident, came out on top with 94 votes. Incumbent Howard Hughson, who currently serves as the Village of Phelps deputy mayor and has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 1995, took the other trustee seat with 40 votes. He could not be reached for comment on the 2026 village election.

Michael Trickey fell closely behind with 39 votes.

Trustees serve four-year terms each, and the annual salary for the current trustees is $4,197. The Village of Phelps, located in Ontario County, has a population of 1,862, according to the World Population Review.

Rushville village election results

There were 50 ballots cast March 18 in the Village of Rushville. Doug Rigby, an incumbent Rushville Village trustee, was re-elected with 24 votes.

Dave Bradshaw, a member of the Rushville Village Zoning Board of Appeals, is the newest member of the Board of Trustees. He won his seat with 26 votes. Both candidates were unopposed.

Trustees serve four-year terms, and the annual salary for the position is $3,000. The village of Rushville, which sits in both Yates and Ontario County, has a population of 683.

Scottsville village election results

The 2026 Scottsville village races were without drama: Andrew Peck, the sole candidate for mayor, claimed 82 votes to win handily over the four votes for write-in candidates.

The two candidates up for two positions in the trustee race, William R. Barham-Burns and Wayne LaVair, received 86 and 63 votes, respectively.

Peck previously served as a trustee on the Village Board and now ascends to the top spot and a four-year term.

Barham-Burns ran a successful campaign in his first attempt at the village board seat.

LaVair was re-elected to a second term. Both trustees will serve a four-year term. 

Shortsville village election results

Matt Schaertl, who currently serves on the Red Jacket Board of Education, on March 18 defeated former mayor and trustee Bob Woodhams in the race for a trustee seat on the Shortsville Village Board.

Schaertl, who is considered a “hybrid” employee but is easing his way out of his liaison work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, and NASA, received 129 votes to Woodhams’ 88 votes. 

The seat carries a four-year term and pays $3,000. Incumbent Sharon Trimm did not run.  

The population of Shortsville is 1,340, according to World Population Review. 

The three-person board consists of a mayor and two trustees. 

Victor village election results

One incumbent making his first run for office will serve for a full term on the Victor Village Board of Trustees, while a longtime trustee was re-elected for two more years. 

Mathew Schneider, who was appointed trustee last year, was elected to a two-year term on March 18. Schneider, who works as therapy rep for a medical device manufacturer, received 42 votes. 

Trustee Carol Commisso, who is a lifelong resident of this village of more than 2,600 residents and is currently retired, has served on the board for 10 years. She received 39 votes. 

Both ran unopposed for the seats, although there was one write-in vote. The seats carry two-year terms. 

The annual trustee salary is $7,531. Four trustees and the mayor serve on the Village Board.
