Now that bitter cold temperatures are behind us, spring can’t come fast enough.
For students, that means a week off school and hopefully some fun in the sun. For many of us, the grass starting to turn green and the sun shining mean winter is over, but the official spring equinox doesn’t fall until March 20 in the United States.
St. Patrick’s Day decorations will be coming down and traded in for Easter baskets and pastel-colored marshmallow Peeps. Most school districts give students Good Friday on April 3 off leading into their week-long vacation.
Here’s when students go on spring break at schools in Broome, Tioga, Chenango and Delaware counties.
