Texans make signing of free agent DL Logan Hall official

A former Houston Cougar is officially back in H-Town to join the Houston Texans’ defense for 2026.

The Texans officially signed former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive lineman Logan Hall to a two-year deal on Friday to close out the first week of free agency. He’s expected to compete for reps with the newly signed Dominique Robinson as a rotational option behind All-Pro defensive end Will Anderson Jr. and five-time Pro Bowler Danielle Hunter.

A 2022 second-round pick, Hall spent the past four seasons on staff in Tampa Bay as a rotational option on the pass rush. In four seasons, he racked up 101 tackles, 10 sacks, 19 tackles for loss and four pass breakups. Hall was also credited with 39 starts, including 16 in 2025.

According to NFL Network, the deal is worth roughly $7 million annually. Back in Houston, the Texans hope the version of Hall that became a star for the Cougars can appear at NRG Stadium. Over his four seasons while playing in the American Athletic Conference, Hall totaled 20.5 tackles for loss, including 13.5 in his senior season, along with eight sacks.

Houston’s defense continues to improve after ranking No. 1 overall in total yards last season. Not only did the Texans extend linebacker E.J. Speed, defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins and Hunter, but they also bought in Philadelphia Eagles safety Reed Blankenship.

The Texans should be set on defense until the draft, but they likely could add another offensive lineman or two before free agency ends.
