The day, an unofficial holiday, recognizes people who live and work in the 313 area code.

My Big Fat Shawarma is offering customers to buy one build-your-own Shawarma bowl or wrap, get a second bowl or wrap for $3.13 on March 13. Grab a discount on Mezcal drinks
Mezcal Mexican Restaurant, 51 W. Forest Ave. in Detroit, will offer its premium margaritas for $13.13 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday. Choose tequila (Padrecito) or mezcal (Banhez), with optional flavor shots of strawberry, mango or passion fruit for an additional $3.13. Also taking place is Mezcal’s Latin Fridays with a live DJ from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. with free salsa dance lessons starting at 8 p.m. For information visit mezcaldetroit.com.
McDonald’s celebrates 313 day with deals
At participating McDonald’s locations in metro Detroit, customers can buy the 313 Day Meal March 13, a double Filet-O-Fish, medium fries, four-piece chicken nuggets and a Boston cooler. The meal comes with a free 313 Day Detroit T-shirt and a chance to enter to win 18 suite tickets to a Pistons game with a QR code sticker.
Enjoy Mootz pizza by-the-slice
Mootz Pizzeria + Bar, 1230 Library St. in downtown Detroit, will offer house slice pizza for $3.13 from the Mootz’s pizza-by-the-slice carryout counter from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. (two-slice limit). For info: mootzpizzeria.com.
JoJo’s offers $3.13 treats
JoJo’s Shake Bar, 88 W. Columbia St in downtown Detroit, is offering $3.13 Monster Cookies and $3.13 Boozy Shot Add-Ons to any dessert items on March 13.
