Wichita Falls welcomes an addition to downtown with a new boutique store, The Hoo House.
Nestled in a small storefront located at 816 Indiana Ave., the new business has offerings from eight different vendors: the Clara Collective, Imagery by Carissa, Annie’s Point, Moxie & Grit, With Flair Co., Cuatro Kids & Co., Lamp Love and Blush & Honey Boutique.
“I wanted to be very collective because I knew small businesses trying to open a storefront, there’s a lot of overhead to do just by yourself,” Macey Krottinger, the owner of The Hoo House, said. “So I thought what better way to have a full collective, like a curated space, of different small businesses.”
Krottinger originally began her business online as, “Harriett and Hoo,” back in December of 2022. She sold handmade headbands, earning the nickname Headband Harriett. Hoo was the nickname given to her mother, Judy Ayres.
In 2025, Krottinger settled into the Indiana Avenue location and rebranded her business to The Hoo House.
Krottinger said the origin behind the name was inspired from her mother’s nickname as she had always been the most influential person in Krottinger’s life.
The Hoo House sells a variety of items from women’s apparel, home decor and gifts, children’s items, party supplies, to needlepoint and artwork.
The store’s Facebook page has the tagline, “Where preppy classics meet whimsical charm- clothing, gifts, home decor & happy little finds.”
Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
