Florida State baseball swept the Northern Kentucky Norse in a three-game series this past weekend, 7-3, 13-3, and 17-3. Despite a slightly sluggish start to the season with two losses to Auburn and Michigan, the Seminoles remain a strong contender and are in D1Baseball’s Top 25 poll.
Like the college football and basketball polls, D1Baseball’s poll ranks the best teams in the country. Last week, Florida State was ranked at No. 20 in the country with a record of 8-2. This week, at 13-2, they have remained at No. 20 in the country. They are sandwiched between No. 19 Tennessee, which is 12-4, and No. 21 Kentucky, which is 14-2.
The Seminoles will look to bolster their record and ranking when they travel to Gainesville to take on their bitter rivals, the Florida Gators; this will be the first of three meetings between the two teams. Tuesday’s game versus Florida starts at 6:30 p.m. ET, and fans can watch it on the SEC Network+.
