Mark your calendars for March 20 as the Rancho Mirage Woman’s Club will be holding its annual fundraising gala at The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage.
Titled “Out of This World,” the event will raise money for children’s charities in the Coachella Valley. Men, women and even aliens are invited and highly encouraged to cosplay. Dress as an alien, royalty from another planet, an alien animal or simply use the event as an occasion to have fun with makeup, wigs and costumes. Anything goes. Think of it as Halloween for grownups. With champagne.
Since the inception of this annual event, the Rancho Mirage Woman’s Club has raised and donated more than $1 million to local charities supporting the nonprofit’s mission of “Dedication to the youth, education and advancement of our community.”
Each year, the fundraiser helps fund essential programs, resources and opportunities that empower young people and strengthen our local community. This year’s fundraising recipients are We Can Fish, Big Brothers Big Sisters local chapter, For Shea, LaQuinta Old Town Artisan Studios Mobile Outreach Program, Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City and the Ophelia Project.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. with a two-hour champagne reception where guests can network with other species and peruse silent auction items, which include a number of exciting travel packages with trips to Italy, Bali, Alaska, Mexico and more. At noon, a three-course meal will be served with complimentary wine. At 1 p.m., guests will be encouraged to shake their alien groove thing amid the bubble machines and along with 12-foot-tall LED party robots that light up the dance floor with their insane moves.
The “Out of This World” gala will take you on a journey beyond imagination. To purchase tickets, visit ranchomiragewomansclub.org/gala.The deadline to RSVP is March 12. For more information, email rmwc.club@gmail.com.
