The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team will hold its annual Senior Night as it hosts Maryland in its final home game of the regular season on Wednesday, March 4 at the Kohl Center in Madison.
Beside walk-on Isaac Gard, coach Greg Gard’s son, the Badgers will honor a trio of players who haven’t been in Madison for even a year but have played big roles in UW’s success this season.
Nick Boyd, who came to Wisconsin after a year at San Diego State and four seasons at Florida Atlantic that included a redshirt year, has made a strong push for all-Big Ten honors. His scoring average of 20.3 points per game leads the team and is fourth-best in the conference.
Andrew Rohde, a Brookfield Central product who played at St. Thomas for one season before spending two years at Virginia, has used his defense to make a difference for the Badgers.
After two years at Minnesota and one year at Tulsa, Braeden Carrington has been UW’s main threat off the bench. He’s coming off a career-high 32-point game against Washington in which he hit a school-record nine three-pointers.

Wisconsin needs a victory to secure a double bye in next week’s Big Ten Tournament in Chicago.
The Badgers (20-9 overall, 12-6 in the Big Ten) are tied with Purdue (22-7, 12-6) for fifth and the two play Saturday, March 7 at Purdue in the regular-season finale.
UW still holds out hope to reach fourth place and a triple bye but would need to beat Maryland (11-18, 4-14) and Purdue, and have either Illinois (23-7, 14-5) lose to Maryland or Michigan State (24-5, 14-4) lose to Rutgers (12-17, 5-13) and Michigan (27-2, 17-1).
