A WISN-TV (Channel 12) reporter who’s a Midwest native is going to be the station’s new weekend evening news anchor.
That would be Kendall Keys, WISN 12 announced Feb. 25. She’s been a reporter for WISN, the Milwaukee ABC affiliate, since August 2022.
Starting March 1, Keys will join meteorologist Gino Recchia on “WISN 12 News” at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and 5:30 and 10 p.m. on Sundays. She’ll also provide reporting during weekday newscasts.
This comes after former WISN weekend evening news anchor Cyreia Sandlin left the station in summer 2025 and joined Atlanta News First as a weekday morning anchor.
“I am so excited to step into this new role at WISN 12 News,” Keys said in the announcement. “Working alongside this talented team has pushed me to grow as a journalist, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of a newsroom that cares deeply about our community in southeastern Wisconsin. Milwaukee has become home, and I’m proud to continue sharing the stories that make this city so special.”
Before graduating from Indiana University, Keys – whose hometown is Fort Wayne, Indiana – interned at WANE-15 in Fort Wayne and WTHR-13 in Indianapolis, according to her station bio.
Keys worked at WNEM-TV5 in Michigan ahead of her time at WISN, where her coverage has included Milwaukee Public Schools, the officer-involved shooting during the Republican National Convention and “meaningful” advocacy reporting, which helped a Milwaukee family bring their vulnerable loved one – who was reported missing – home from across the country, the announcement said.
“Kendall is a gifted journalist who seamlessly connects viewers to the heart of each story, breaking down complex issues and sharing the practical implications for our communities,” Shawn Oswald, WISN’s president and general manager, said in the announcement. “We’re so honored to have her at the anchor desk on weekend evenings.”
