Sheriff's office executes search warrant in Galion

BUCYRUS – The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Feb. 25 in Galion for an investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse images.

During the search warrant, conducted at at 1370 Fairview Ave., deputies arrested Michael Paul Taylor, 60, the target of the investigation.

Several electronic items were seized from the residence during the search.

Taylor was transported to the Crawford County Justice Center, where he will be held pending charges of pandering obscenity involving a minor. Child sexual abuse images were found on the devices seized as evidence.

A report will be forwarded to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of additional charges.

Sheriff Scott Kent, Lt. Craig Moser and Detective Winkelman encourage citizens to report any suspicious activity to the sheriff’s office at 419-562-7906 or by submitting a tip on the Sheriff App.
