Texas authorities have identified a Brownfield man who died in a two-vehicle crash early Tuesday in Terry County.
Rolan Tomlison, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that was reported about 6:44 a.m. on U.S. highway 62 about half a mile southwest of County Road 515, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Investigators believe 74-year-old Tommy Hanes was driving a tractor-trailer southwest on U.S. 62 when Hanes turned into a crossover to turn around and travel back northeast on U.S. 62. That’s when the tractor-trailer stalled across both northeast-bound lanes.
Meanwhile, Tomlison was driving a 2017 GMC pickup northeast on U.S. 62 and it collided with the tractor-trailer, becoming wedged under the vehicle and leaving Tomlison dead at the scene.
Other factors contributing to the crash were not immediately clear as the investigation is ongoing.

Description: Preliminary investigation revealed that Vehicle 2, towing a semi-trailer, was traveling southwest on US 62. The driver of Vehicle 2 turned into a crossover to turn around and travel back northeast on US 62; that’s when Vehicle 2 stalled across both northeast-bound lanes. Vehicle 1 was traveling northeast on US 62 and collided with the front right of the semi-trailer and the right rear of Vehicle 2, becoming wedged underneath the semi-trailer. The driver of Vehicle 1 was pronounced deceased on scene as a result of the injuries sustained during the crash.
