Nearly two years after Tulip City Brewstillery closed for renovations at 430 W. 17th St. in Holland, the revamped version — Tulip City Bar and Grill — is hosting a grand opening Feb. 20.
The space has grown from 5,500 square feet to 8,500 square feet, and offers seating for close to 200 guests. First owned by Rick Moralez, who ran the former Hopland Brewstillery, the business has been sold to father-and-son duo Carlos Mendoza and Carlos Mendoza Jr.
The two sought to grow the space’s ambiance and renovate the restaurant, gaming area, kitchen and building.
The business will open at 7 a.m. Feb. 20. According to company representatives, favorites like dart league, live music and trivia nights will continue. The menu still includes items from Spice Boys Food Truck —which has long operated in the parking lot of the business — but has expanded considerably to offer burgers, steak, pizzas, pastas, salmon and more.
Having pivoted from on-site production, Tulip City Bar and Grill carries beverage options from several local breweries and will offer mimosa brunches and other breakfast dishes.
