The Potbelly Sandwich Shop in West Des Moines permanently closed. The chain — known for toasty sandwiches, salads, soups and shakes, often featuring hot peppers and a fast, 8-minute service guarantee — closed the location at 6305 Mills Civic Pkwy., West Des Moines.

The restaurant at the Galleria at Jordan Creek opened on Nov. 14, 2017. It was the second metro location for the chain, opened by franchisee Paul Goldammer.
The location at the Equitable Building, 604 Locust St., Des Moines, remains open, the last in the metro and one of two in Iowa. The other Potbelly Sandwich Shop is located in Ames.
The Chicago-based company has more than 400 locations across the United States. For more information, visit Potbelly.com.
