LIVONIA — With its new store set to open soon, Nino Salvaggio’s International Marketplace is looking to hire about 150 workers for its newest location on the campus of Schoolcraft College.
The family-owned specialty market said it is currently filling positions across all departments, from entry-level roles to management.
Both full-time and part-time jobs are available, with “flexible scheduling, competitive pay and room for growth,” a press release said.
The new store, at 18700 Haggerty Road, is expected to open in early March.
“This expansion represents a significant local investment and a boost for the area’s workforce – including Schoolcraft College students and local residents looking for flexible work close to home,” said Jason Brown of PublicCity PR, a public relations firm representing Nino Salvaggio’s.
The Livonia marketplace is located in Schoolcraft’s north commuter lot near the Vistatech Center along Haggerty Road.
A groundbreaking ceremony in November 2024 marked the start of construction on the 48,100-square-foot store, the fifth Nino Salvaggio’s location in Michigan.
Founded by the late Nino Salvaggio in 1979, the specialty grocer has grown from a neighborhood produce market into a regional brand known for gourmet produce, meats, baked goods, prepared foods and floral offerings.
Existing locations operate in Bloomfield Township, Clinton Township, St. Clair Shores and Troy.
Company leaders have said the Livonia store will also serve as an educational hub for Schoolcraft College students, offering potential hands-on learning opportunities for those studying culinary arts, supply chain management and other related fields.
