The Los Angeles Chargers’ passing attack might look a quite familiar to Miami Dolphins fans next season.
The Chargers are hiring Adam Gase as an offensive assistant focusing on the passing game, NFL Network is reporting.
That means he’ll work with new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel.
And that means two former Dolphins head coaches will be directing the attack of quarterback Justin Herbert.
Gase is returning to the NFL after missing five seasons. The New York Jets fired him following the 2020 season.
Before that, he was Miami’s head coach from 2016-18.
Gase, 47, went 10-6 and took the Dolphins to the playoffs in 2016. But he was fired by Stephen Ross after going 6-10 and 7-9 the next two seasons.
The Jets quickly snapped him up, but he was 7-9 in 2019 and 2-14 in 2020.
