Why is Lubbock County closing tax office at City Bank? What to know

The Lubbock County Tax Assessor-Collector is closing one of its locations this month, leaving some wondering where they can go to get vehicle registrations filed. Here’s what to know, and where to go.

The tax office at City Bank, 5219 City Bank Parkway, will permanently close at 5 p.m. on Feb. 20. This is due to the bank needing the space for its own operations, according to a county news release.

“As City Bank continues to grow, they now need the space for their own operations,” the release stated. “City Bank has been an excellent partner for Lubbock County for many years by providing the location for Lubbock County taxpayers.”

With this pending closure, people will need to use other locations. The Tax Assessor-Collector services will be fully available at:
