One could say that Luka Doncic is having the best season of his career thus far. He’s averaging 33.6 points, eight rebounds, 8.8 assists and 1.5 steals a game while shooting 47.6% from the field, and he’s leading the NBA in scoring average, shot attempts per game and free throw attempts per game.
While his Los Angeles Lakers have been struggling for the last several weeks, he had an amazing January. During that month, he put up 34 points, 7.2 rebounds and 9.1 assists a game, and he shot 50.6% overall and 39.2% from 3-point range.
As a result, Doncic has been named the Western Conference Player of the Month for January.
This is the sixth time that the 26-year-old superstar has won the Western Conference Player of the Month award. He last earned it in March 2024 during his last full season with the Dallas Mavericks. That was the season when he led the Mavericks to the NBA Finals despite a less-than-stellar 50-32 record and the fifth seed in the West.
