Browns head coach Todd Monken reveals who will call offensive plays

Over the past six years, three with Georgia and three with the Baltimore Ravens, new Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken elevated their offenses. He’s a great schemer and playcaller, and now he is looking to add a great head coach to his resume. One of the most important questions was, now that he is a head coach, would he remain the play caller for the offense?

Monken was asked in his opening press conference on Tuesday whether he planned to call the plays on offense, and he said he would. The team is bringing over Travis Switzer from Baltimore to be their offensive coordinator, and it will be his first time being an offensive coordinator.

It makes sense that Monken would call plays because of Switzer’s inexperience and because Monken has had so much success at the college and NFL levels calling plays and running an offense. Monken continues to assemble his staff, but one of the biggest offensive questions has been answered.
