US SEC Chairman Atkins says co-operation with counterparts abroad is "vital"

BRUSSELS , Feb 3 (Reuters) – Paul Atkins, Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), on Tuesday stressed the importance of working with markets regulators abroad.

“I think it’s vital that we co-operate with our counterparts abroad,” Atkins said during a fintech and regulation conference in Brussels, when asked about the future of international Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and international standard-setting bodies.
