Saugatuck’s Parking Improvements Task Force is asking for public input as it works toward long-term solutions to the municipality’s ongoing parking challenges.
Residents, business owners, employees and visitors are invited to complete a new online survey focused on parking and transportation habits. The provided feedback will guide the task force as it develops strategies to improve access, reduce congestion and enhance the pedestrian experience.
Saugatuck City Manager Ryan Cummins said the task force reflects the city’s commitment to addressing parking issues in a “thoughtful, data-driven and community-focused way.”
“This survey gives everyone an opportunity to share their experiences and help shape the future of parking in Saugatuck,” he said.
Saugatuck City Council created the task force in July 2025, also approving a request for proposals for consulting services to conduct a parking study and explore possible solutions. Cummins noted evaluating and implementing parking improvements is a “multi-year priority” for 2025-26.
The eight-member task force was seated in September. The group includes a council representative who serves as chair, a planning commission representative, residents and other community stakeholders.
The parking study will continue through most of 2026, with additional opportunities for public input along the way. The survey opened Jan. 28 and will remain available through Feb. 27 at surveymonkey.com/r/saugatuckparking.
