A 37-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle outside of Premont on Jan. 16.
At 8:35 p.m., a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south in the inside lane of Business 281 outside of Premont city limits when Randy Davila was crossing the roadway on foot and was struck by the Silverado, according to a news release sent by Sgt. Rob Mallory of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The Silverado driver pulled over and contacted 911. Davila was transported to Christus Spohn in Alice and then flown to Christus Spohn Shoreline.
Davila died at 3:02 a.m. on Jan. 17. The driver had not been identified as of Jan. 22.
The crash remains under investigation.
