There were plenty of strong performances over the past week from high school athletes all across Central Wisconsin as winter sports settle into the new year.
Athletes from Marshfield, Stevens Point, Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids delivered key performances to help their teams come away with victories.
Find out which performances across winter sports stood out as the strongest outings of the week.
Here is a look at the top high school performers around Central Wisconsin from Jan. 12-19.
Girls basketball:
Emma Love, Marathon: Love led Marathon to a victory over Auburndale with 22 points on 9- of-10 overall shooting on Jan. 12.
Paetyn Jirschele, Mosinee: Jirschele scored 17 points on 7-of-9 overall shooting in a win over Antigo on Jan. 12.
Mya Dernbach, Almond-Bancroft: Dernbach posted 28 points, 11 rebounds, six steals and a block in a win over Wild Rose Jan. 13
Melaina Granquist, Wittenberg-Birnamwood: Granquist produced a monster double-double of 26 points and 19 rebounds for the Chargers in a win over Bonduel.
Rory Salvesen, Wittenberg–Birnamwood: Salvesen led Wittenberg-Birnamwood to a win with 18 points and two 3-pointers against Bonduel.
Elly Gardner, Columbus Catholic: Gardner dropped her season-high of 39 points, including six 3-pointers in a win over Loyal on Jan. 13.
Madi Davel, Neillsville: Davel led Neillsville with 25 points on 9-of-17 overall shooting in a win over Spencer on Jan. 13.
Taylor Klingbeil, Medford: Klingbeil posted 25 points on 11-of-20 overall shooting in a win over Northland Pines.
Jada Seubert, Stevens Point: Seubert led the Panthers to a victory with 27 points in a win over Middleton on Jan. 13.
Leah Awe, Stevens Point: Awe added 18 points on 6-of-9 overall shooting in a win over Middleton.
Addy Henrich, Mosinee: Henrich scored 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including two 3-pointers in a win over Tomahawk on Jan. 13.
Leire Sainz de Rozas, Assumption: Sainz de Rozas led Assumption in scoring in their key victory over Stratford, she finished scoring 16 points, adding four rebounds, two blocks and three steals in a win over Stratford on Jan. 15.
Chesney Nagel, Auburndale: Nagel produced 17 points, cashing in five 3-pointers in a win over Edgar on Jan. 15.
Payten Marciulionis, D.C. Everest: The freshman, Marciulionis, led the Evergreens with 15 points in a win over Wausau East
Boys basketball:
Mac Konieczny, Columbus Catholic: Konieczny led Columbus Catholic to a win with 19 points against Pacelli.
Luke Hannula, Colby: Hannula led Colby with 24 points, nine rebounds and four steals in a win over Abbotsford on Jan. 12.
Reed Fleischmann, Colby: Fleischmann scored 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including10 rebounds and four steals in a win over Abbotsford.
Brayden Reinke, Mosinee: Reinke led Mosinee in scoring with 25 points in a win over Antigo on Jan. 12.
Treve Stoffel, Mosinee: Stoffel posted 20 points as Mosinee’s second-leading scorer in a win over Antigo on Jan. 12.
Carson Nowak, Edgar: Nowak posted 24 points on 9-of-22 overall shooting in a loss to Owen-Withee.
Tyson Ott, Merrill: Ott posted 16 points, including three 3-pointers in a win over Antigo on Jan. 13.
Cade Felch, D.C. Everest: Felch led D.C. Everest in scoring with 17 points in a win over Chippewa Falls.
Ransom Dickerson, D.C. Everest: Dickerson scored 16 points and knocked in two 3-pointers for the Evergreens in a win over Chippewa Falls.
Chris Pohl, Marshfield: Pohl led Marshfield with 22 points in a win over Eau Claire Memorial on Jan. 13.
Valin Ramberg, Marshfield: Ramberg finished as Marshfield’s second-leading scorer, finishing with 18 points in a win over Eau Claire Memorial.
Quincy Pfender, Newman Catholic: Pfender led Newman Catholic with 32 points on 15-of-29 overall shooting in a one-point win over Newman Catholic on Jan. 13.
Nick Krause, Medford: Krause dropped 22 points and cashed in six 3-pointers in a win over Northland Pines on Jan. 13.
Korz Loken, Iola-Scandinavia: Loken led Iola-Scandinavia in scoring with 21 points in a win over Saint Mary Catholic.
Ben Weiland, Columbus Catholic: Weiland led Columbus Catholic in scoring with 25 points in a win over Owen-Withee.
Devin Dassow, Medford: Dassow led Medford with 23 points, including three 3-pointers in a loss to Merrill.
Robbie Angiulli, Wausau East: Angiulli dropped 22 points for Wausau East in a loss to D.C. Everest on Jan. 16.
Xander Klein, Wausau East: Klein finished with 20 points, including six 3-pointers in a loss to D.C. Everest.
Girls hockey:
Isabelle Janke, Central Wisconsin Storm: Janke contributed two goals in a 6-2 win over Medford on Jan. 12.
Ava Whitmore, Central Wisconsin Storm: Whitmore led the way with two goals in a 3-1 victory over Wisconsin Valley Union on Jan. 13.
Boys hockey:
Jonah Dickens, Tomahawk: Dickens cashed in four goals and two assists in a 8-0 victory over Antigo on Jan. 12.
Tyler Baars, Mosinee: Baars tallied four goals and one assist in a 8-1 win over Rhinelander. Then another pair of goals in Mosinee’s 4-1 victory over Waupaca.
Jackson Pierce, East-Merrill: Pierce collected three goals and one assist in a 6-3 victory over Marshfield.
Cashton Anderson, Marshfield: Anderson produced two goals in a loss to East-Merrill on Jan. 13.
Payton Ledocq, Pacelli: Ledocq was responsible for two goals, and three assists in a 6-1 win over Medford on Jan. 13.
Caleb McGregor, Pacelli: McGregor posted a whopping four goals in a 6-1 win over Medford.
Cole Kenney, Marshfield: Kenney led Marshfield with three goals in a 6-4 loss to Wausau West on Jan. 15.
Chase Crass, Wausau West: Crass added two goals and one assist in a win over Marshfield on Jan. 15.
Cooper DePuydt, Wausau West: DePuydt posted three goals and two assists in a win over Marshfield.
Caden Allen, D.C. Everest: Allen posted two goals in a 7-1 win over Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln on Jan. 15.
Hayden Johnson, D.C. Everest: Johnson scored two goals in a 7-1 win over Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln on Jan. 15.
Landyn Seymour, Tomahawk: Seymour produced two goals and two assists in a 13-0 victory over Medford on Jan. 15
Caiden Reichelt, Tomahawk: Reichelt tallied two goals and one assist in a 13-0 victory over Medford.
Brayden Lamer, Tomahawk: Lamer collected two goals and one assist in a 13-0 victory over Medford.
Jett Reilly, Tomahawk: Reilly led his team in both points and assists in a win over Medford on Jan. 15, finishing with four goals and three assists.
