One person is dead after a residential fire on Sunday, Jan. 18 in Allegany County.
Amity-based New York State Police and the Willing Volunteer Hose Company reported responding at 2:14 p.m. to Billings Hill Road in the town of Willing for a fully involved structure fire at a two-story house.
According to state police, one person died in the fire. Troopers said the individual is presumed to have been a resident at the address, but formal identification is pending.
Only limited information about the fire has been released. The blaze drew manpower from at least eight local fire and emergency agencies.
State police are investigating. There has been no report on the cause of the fire.
Volunteer fire departments from Wellsville, Whitesville, Genesee Township, Pennsylvania, Allentown, Scio, and Andover provided mutual aid, along with the Wellsville Ambulance Corps.
