Social medial rages over Ohio State loss to Miami in CFP Cotton Bowl

Winning championships is hard. That’s no excuse; it’s just facts. What happened last year for Ohio State was catching lightning in a bottle. It was the exception, not the norm. Social media has seemed to turn up the heat at a higher intensity when winning doesn’t happen, especially at a place like the one that resides on the banks of the Olentangy.

For a program everyone loves to hate, instead of just a few days, fans feel the sting for the entire off-season, sometimes more. At the same time, some on social media make some valid points, or at the very least are somewhat humorous … because if we don’t laugh, we may just cry, or throw the TV out the window.

It’s only been a few hours since the loss to Miami occurred, but there is no shortage of opinions and insight as to what happened in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. Some are well thought out, and others come from the self-proclaimed “lunatic fringe.”

It was a rough game for our beloved Buckeyes, and yet the sun did come up again this morning. There are many questions to be answered before spring practice begins and a new quest for a championship in the fall. Until then, we’ll wrestle with what could have been and drive ourselves insane with the various takes from the armchair experts.

Maybe Ohio State peaked too early in the year

Ohio State used to play fast

Inexperience at quarterback for Ohio State showed

Ohio State did not turn up the gas when needed

Or maybe since 2021 Oregon at Ohio State

It’s a fair question that should be addressed by Ohio State coaches

At least we’ll know who Ohio State is by the time we get to the CFP
