5 players the Jets can consider true building blocks on offense

The New York Jets possess three games left in this rebuilding 2025 season. They’ll face the New Orleans Saints on Sunday in Week 16 in a showdown that will help determine final 2026 NFL draft positioning for both teams.

General manager Darren Mougey will be tasked with retooling an underperforming offense this offseason.

With that in mind, Jets Wire has identified five offensive talents the Jets can consider legitimate building blocks moving forward.

Garrett Wilson, WR

Garrett Wilson has missed four consecutive contests due to injury and he will not play again in 2025. Wilson was limited by injuries and poor quarterback play throughout 2025, but there’s no denying his long-term value to the Jets offense. If the quarterback position improves this offseason, the premier pass-catcher will return to being a 1,000-yard playmaker in 2026.

Olu Fashanu, OT

After an uneven rookie season, left tackle Olu Fashanu has really developed as a sophomore in 2025. The former Penn State standout has established himself as a long-term solution. The Jets’ next quarterback has his blindside protector in place.

Joe Tippmann, IOL

Joe Tippmann moved from center to right guard following the season-ending injury to Alijah Vera-Tucker. Tippmann is capable of thriving at every interior offensive line position. The Jets will have to figure out his most effective spot in 2026, but they can rest comfortably knowing he’s a high-level starter.

Mason Taylor, TE

Rookie tight end Mason Taylor has certainly looked the part. The ex LSU Tigers performer leads the Jets in receptions this season with 44. After signing Jeremy Ruckert to a contract extension earlier this week, the Jets have their tight ends in place for 2026.

Armand Membou, OT

Rookie right tackle Armand Membou is also enjoying a great debut season. The seventh overall selection has quickly surpassed expectations. Mougey drafted at least two future solutions on offense in Membou and Taylor. He’ll need to replicate that success this offseason.
