It is bowl season! The Iowa Hawkeyes are bowling once again, as is program tradition, and have drawn one of the more intriguing matchups of the bowl slate this holiday season. Iowa is headed south and draws a team that was in College Football Playoff contention.
The Iowa Hawkeyes (8-4, 6-3 Big Ten) ended the season strong with a 40-16 stomping of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and will meet up against the Vanderbilt Commodores (10-2, 6-2 SEC), who also ended the season strong with a blowout over their rival, the Tennessee Volunteers. The programs will face off in the ReliaQuest Bowl from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

Both programs ended the regular season ranked in the final College Football Playoff rankings. The Iowa Hawkeyes came in at No. 23, while Vanderbilt was just outside of the 12-team bracket at No. 14 in the country.
