Neenah’s mayor, Jane Lang, will not seek re-election this spring, according to a Dec. 3 press release.
“It has been an absolute honor to serve as an alderman for eight years and then as Neenah’s mayor for the past almost four,” she said.
She continued, “The excellent team at the city has accomplished so much in those four years, and I will never be able to fully express my gratitude and appreciation for all that this incredible group of people do to serve others.”
In her statement, Lang said that she decided against running again because she wanted to spend more time with her family, including her husband, Fred Lang, and her children and grandchildren. Still, she said that decision was “very difficult” to make.
She expressed gratitude to her family, friends, supporters and city employees.
“Neenah is an amazing community, and my love for it and for those who also call it home will never waver,” she said.
The spring election will be held April 7, 2026, when Neenah voters will elect the next mayor, the Neenah-Menasha municipal judge and three representatives on the Neenah Common Council. If a primary is necessary, it will be held Feb. 17, 2026.
