In a heartfelt tribute to two beloved Lake Local Schools educators, three longtime Blue Streak supporters — who wish to remain anonymous — came together to establish an endowment fund at Stark Community Foundation in honor of Kathy and Kevin Tobin.

The fund celebrates the Tobins’ extraordinary dedication to students and their combined 50 years of service that left a lasting mark on the Lake community.

Superintendent Kevin Tobin retired in August 2025 after 29 years of leadership at Lake. Over nearly three decades, he served as a teacher, coach, building administrator, principal and for the past nine years, superintendent.

His wife, Kathy Tobin, who passed away in 2023, was a cherished educator who spent 23 years inspiring students with her kindness, commitment and care. Together, the Tobins embodied what it means to make a difference that lasts well beyond the classroom.

The newly created Kathy and Kevin Tobin Endowment Fund provides annual scholarships to graduating Lake High School seniors pursuing degrees in education. The fund stands as a lasting tribute to the Tobins’ shared passion for teaching, mentoring and shaping the next generation of educators — truly “living the dash” between the years of their lives with purpose and impact.

The fund was announced earlier this summer during a retirement celebration honoring Kevin Tobin.
