It’s already been a historic season for the Churchville-Chili girls soccer team, but there’s still room for another first.
The Saints are one win away from their first NYSPHSAA title, after defeating Warwick-IX on Saturday. To climb the Class AA mountain, Churchville-Chili will need to overcome a team that’s won two of the last three state titles.
One key for both finalists: Defense. Churchville-Chili has eight shutouts in its last nine games, while Albertus Magnus has allowed only five goals in its 22 matches.
