Police Capt. Donald Wensel said officers were dispatched to the hospital’s emergency room around 3:34 p.m. after a man called the hospital and made multiple threats. The caller allegedly threatened to “shoot up” the hospital and blow it up, he said.

Wensel said the man was asked to repeat his words, which he did and then ended his call as officers were notified.

In an email response, Aultman Hospital officials said:

“The hospital was immediately placed on lockdown for a little more than two hours. The threat was investigated and cleared by Alliance Police, and the lockdown was lifted around 6 p.m. During lockdown, all entry points to the hospital are closed, and only patients or those who have emergency needs are allowed to enter.”

The hospital stayed open for patient care and no one was injured.

Wensel said there are no suspects “at this time.”
