Texas A&M's playoff odds rising entering Week 11 contest against Missouri

The Texas A&M Aggies’ odds to reach the College Football Playoff are on the rise entering the Week 11 contest against the Missouri Tigers.

Head coach Mike Elko has his team playing on a historic level, as the Maroon and White secured its first 8-0 start since 1992, after demolishing LSU in Week 9. Although there are still many Southeastern Conference challenges ahead for the Aggies, the program’s continued success on the gridiron is increasing its odds of securing a playoff bid for the first time in school history.

Here are the latest playoff bracket projections, according to Yahoo Sports’ Nick Bromberg:

Per FanDuel’s playoff odds, the Aggies are sitting at -6000 odds to reach the CFP this season. However, it will take more dominant performances like Elko and the company’s massive win in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to keep those chances intact.

The tasks ahead do not get any easier for Texas A&M, as they will be faced with one of the most prolific defensive units in the SEC when they travel to CoMo for Saturday’s matchup against Mizzou, which is also battling for a position in the playoffs with only two losses this season to Alabama and Vanderbilt, respectively. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz is an experienced guru and has the Tigers atop the conference in various statistical categories, especially on defense.

Should the Aggies continue to dominate and capture another massive conference win against Missouri on Saturday, the program’s chances of reaching the playoff and receiving a higher seed will be on the rise again. For Elko’s squad, it is pivotal to stay focused on the task at hand, as SEC road games always present a challenge.
