The Detroit Lions finalized their gameday roster for the Week 7 visit by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with some moves. Most notable amongst the moves is the activation of defensive tackle Alim McNeill from the PUP list.
McNeill is poised to make his season debut after missing the first six weeks while recovering from a torn ACL. He is now active and eligible to play.
To make room for McNeill on the 53-man roster, the Lions released LB Ty Summers.
The Lions also signed defensive back Arthur Maulet from the practice squad to the active roster. Detroit had a previous opening on the active roster after earlier waiving safety Loren Strickland. He came back, however, and Strickland joins CB Tre Flowers as the two players elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for the game on Monday night.
Dealing with a rash of injuries in the secondary, and a suspension to starting safety Brian Branch, the moves bolster the depth in the defensive backfield.
