Marion Star Football Player of Week 9 Poll | Who had the best performance?

Mount Gilead unofficially clinched a playoff berth. North Union controls its own postseason destiny. Ridgedale helped its cause with a convincing win over the second place team in the Northwest Central Conference.

Add in wins by Elgin and Northmor, and it was a memorable Week 9 around the Marion area in high school football.

There were also noteworthy performances from players on Oct. 17.

Fans can now vote in the Marion Star’s Football Player of Week 9 Poll. It will be open through early morning Tuesday, Oct. 21 at MarionStar.com and its app. Fans are encouraged to vote as often as allowed.

Marion Star Football Player of Week 9 Poll

Marion Harding’s Ray J Scott-Harbolt picked off a pass and made nine catches for 96 yards in a loss to Galion.

Northmor’s Tanner Miley ran 25 times for 213 yards and a touchdown, plus threw for 187 yards on 13 of 17 completions and two more touchdowns in a win over Cardington.

Cardington’s Wyatt Denney rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns on 31 carries, added a touchdown pass, recovered a fumble on defense and made 13 tackles in a loss to Northmor.

North Union’s Nick VanHoose ran for 151 yards and three touchdowns, including an 86-yard run, on 11 carries in a win over Shawnee.

Mount Gilead’s Carson Barnum posted 261 yards on 32 carries and scored two touchdowns in a win over Loudonville.
