For many areas in western New York, it is legal to park in front of your neighbor’s house as long as it’s a public street and you are following posted regulations. But many people find this super rude.
A true jerk move, even.
Although it’s a public street, some consider the space in front of their home personal space — especially when they don’t have their own driveway or garage. Parking in front of your neighbor’s house can also be inconvenient by making any of their guests have to park further away.
Maybe you have a spot or two in front of your house you are already using, but your new teen driver needs a place to park. Maybe you know your neighbor really doesn’t use their curb or spot.
