Gas-and-convenience chain Speedway, acquired by 7-Eleven in 2021, is building its first store in the Northwest Florida, this one off of Garcon Point Road in the Milton area.
Developers got the go ahead to build a 4,852-square-foot convenience store and gas station after Santa Rosa County approved the proposal on Aug. 1. Developers initially submitted their plans in November 2024.

While the project is named 7-Eleven, the approved set of plans show the brand will actually be Speedway and that it will be built off the intersection of Garcon Point Road and Henzelman Drive.
Three existing roads, including Sundial Boulevard, will provide motorists access into Speedway. The land’s current address is 3861 Garcon Point Road, but site plans say the address of the future store isn’t set yet.
TP Milton LLC bought the 8.59-acre parcel from its former owners Edward and Luis Dunn on July 30, 2025, for $1,750,000. Developers submitted updated site plans to Santa Rosa County the following day.
The entity was created on July 16, 2025, and is registered to John Potter, the listed developer of the project in its site plans.
Is Speedway owned by 7-Eleven?
Yes, 7-Eleven has owned the Speedway chain since 2021 after acquiring it from Marathon Petroleum Corp. for $21 billion.
The Milton store will be Speedways’ first location in Santa Rosa County, as well as the only location in either Escambia or Santa Rosa counties, upon completion.
Until the store opens, the closest Florida Speedway location to the Pensacola area is in the city of Midway, just outside Tallahassee.
Speedway is headquartered in Ohio and has some nearby locations in Alabama and Georgia as well.
