Combee Road (State Road 659) in Lakeland is being reduced to one lane with flaggers or law enforcement directing traffic south of Coral Way, about 3,000 feet south of U.S. 92, on Oct. 10.
The unplanned lane closure is a result of a damaged drainage pipe beneath the roadway, the Florida Department of Transportation said in a news release. Crews are making repairs, and the road will reopen as soon as possible, the release said.

Motorists should expect the lane closures to remain in place through the morning’s peak traffic.
