It’s never too early to start thinking about the holiday season as Spirit Christmas announced its return to New York later this year.
The brand, which is connected to Spirit Halloween and Spencer’s, will open 30 locations across the Northeast and Great Lakes regions in November — an expansion from last year’s 10 inaugural stores, according to a Sept. 25 news release.
“At Spirit, we believe the magic of the season does not end with Halloween — it transforms,” said CEO of Spirit Christmas Steven Silverstein. “Back by popular demand and with even more locations, Spirit Christmas is an extension of our sensory-rich, interactive holiday experiences.”

Where will the New York stores be located?
Three of the 30 Spirit Christmas locations are in New York. Here’s where you’ll be able to find them:
The remaining stores are located throughout the following 12 states — Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Ohio, Michigan, Maryland, Delaware, Kentucky, Illinois and Indiana.
What you’ll find inside Spirit Christmas stores
Similar to what the Spirit Halloween stores offer, you’ll be able to find an assortment of holiday décor, apparel, inflatables, gifts, and stocking stuffers more suitable to the Christmas holiday.
Customers will be also greeted by the Peppermint Village — “an immersive in-store experience featuring festive decor, unique gifts, holiday apparel and interactive displays designed to spark joy and nostalgia” — the news release says.
And, just like last holiday season, you’ll be able to get your picture taken with Santa starting Nov. 21 through Dec. 24. You can book your visit with Santa at all three New York locations ahead of time by visiting SpiritChristmas.com.
When will the stores open?
Spirit Christmas stores are opening soon, the company’s website says. You can start pre-scheduling your family photos with Santa now, but the first available date is Nov. 21.
